Guest guest
Sounds great! I did get a cll yesterday from a young mom of 3, don't know what she will be deciding, may have a bible school attitude, but maybe not. Yea my body loves it too. I just did about 8 or more days off dairy while doing the ayurvedic home panchakarma, was good, but then I was craving it again! How to get on the midwifery today forums you are talking about? Guest guest
I don't know,I'm not an expert on probiotics (I'm just a postpartum doula and lactation consultant) but here is the definition from a book I have called Healthy Living by Linda Page. " Probiotics - a category of dietary supplements consisting of beneficial microorganisms, including lactobacillus bifodobacteria, and streptococcus termophilus. Probiotics compete with diseasae-causing microorganisms in the gastrointestinal tract. They are responsible for several activities, including the manufacturing of B vitamisn like biotin, niccin, folic acid and pyrodoxine (B6), improving digestion, combting vaginal yeast infections, and killing harmful bacteria by changing acid/alkaline balance and depriving the harmful bacteria of nutrients they need. I suppose you could have gotten an even better definition on the internet. Vicky P.S. I love kefir too, I drink strawberry flavored- and with pasteurized milk, would love to get the real thing. ---- adrienneleeds 04/13/05 12:26:49 ayurveda training doulas on the midwifery today forums are inquiring about the ayurdoula training. just a heads up, emails will be coming in soon! also Vicky, my understanding is that the bacterium Lactobacillus acidophilus is a type of probiotic. curious what the distinction is? on that note, martha I am absolutely loving the kefir! Guest guest
Dear Anella, I understand, and believe me, it is planned this way. The way it is promoted nowadays, is that only the Medicos have this omnipotent knowledge and the rest of us are just a bunch of dummies. The books are actually promoted that way. Windows for Dummies; Office for Dummies, and Health for Dummies. All we need to do is change our minds and acknowledge that we are the prime "cause" in our own lives. The only way you can be proactive is by searching for and gaining the knowledge and experience for yourself. Where to begin. Wellllllllllll, I strongly recommend you order that full CD Lecture Series of mine if you haven't already. It was designed to put YOU in control of you and yours rather than leaving it up to someone else. You can order it on line at: Http://www.OrganicSolutionsStore.com or call 727-447-5282 and order it from my office. I am in the process of creating a full set of long distance, correspondence courses, but these will not be done until my book is done (few months off). Yours in Knowledge, Health and Freedom, Doc PS. Like elsewhere in the country, the real estate market here in Clearwater is dropping. :-D PPS. There is always hope. Always. We have not used the medicos for a while, but when we did use them we were devout; even going in for “well checks”. Well last night I took my eight year old to the ER because I strongly suspected that he had a fracture. I’m sure I saw a sign on the door as we walked in that read: “Abandon all hope ye who enter here ” And for the next FIVE AND ½ HOURS that is exactly what we did, abandon all hope. We sat next to a man who was bringing his daughter in because she had a cold and he planned to ask for drugs to prevent the onset of pneumonia! I have never felt like such a victim before in my life (although a self-made one). I tried to Google info before we left for hell (oops! I mean the ER) but there is disagreement among the alternative medical professionals and I don’t possess your BS detector. What I learned is that when your child is in pain is NOT the time to try and educate yourself. I have to be more proactive. Which brings me to my question: Where do I begin? Do you have a CD or a mail order training course? Is there a book that you recommend for beginners like me? There are several alternative healing practitioners in my area, but how do I tell the quacks apart from the real healers? Maybe it’s just time to move….what’s the real estate market like in Clearwater? Anella
Guest guest
No problem Mendy. Thanks for the input. We all need to take this "first step to responsibility" sooner or later. Hugs, Doc mendy wrote: Anella.... Don't feel badly about your experience. You did what you felt was right at the time. What is great is that you realized this was not enough for you, you realized there is MORE and better care for yourself and child. We all began somewhere, and this was your turning point. (In my opinion anyway) My turning point was at a conventional doctor's appointment for what I thought was bronchitis and being sent home with literally a brown grocery bag full of drugs for asthma. I was never once tested for it, I was never once told how to use all the drugs they shoved at me, I was never once told the dangerous side-effects, nothing....just instructed to use ALL of these and make a follow up appointment. I knew right then I was moving on to a better way of taking care of myself. That was 6 years ago, I have not even had a cold since that day. I became a student of holistic nutrition and am now working towards my PhD in it. So take pride in your 'awakening' and welcome to a life of true HEALTH and wellness!! (Sorry Doc but I just felt the need to share, hope it's ok) Did your child have a fracture? I was wondering about the outcome after I read the posts. ~Mendy~ ----- Original Message ---- Doc Shillington <DocShillington herbal remedies <herbal remedies (AT) Groups (DOT) com> Thursday, December 6, 2007 11:10:52 AM {Herbal Remedies} Re: Training Dear Anella, I understand, and believe me, it is planned this way.
