Hi all,

Following is a response from Martha regarding my question about whether or not

it is safe to take Mahasudarshan during pregnancy.

My son and I came down with a case of the sniffles and I usually use a paste of

this made with ghee and honey, but again was unsure if it was safe now that I am

pregnant again.

" Take something warm with it, and something like licorice I'd add in small

amounts (I know what the western herbalists say, but not the chinese/ayurved) or

slipp elm, but that's more kaphagenic. Maybe is comfrey root ok? Something

unctuous with the vata increasing bitters - even ghee and or honey.

Got any essential oils? Any will help, some more than others. Lavender for

clear drippiness, (also tumeric even in gargle, that would be ok), eucalyptuses

for congestion, or mints, sage, ginger oils. Ginger root boiled in some water

steam inhalation will be good! Clove, oregano, thyme, lemon, rosemary, savory,

others are good safe pregnancy oils for rubbing on your feet several drops

several times a day. "

I suppose if there is more input from the other wise ones on this group we could

compile a handout on this subject too. We could really help each other out as

well as our clients by sharing our knowledge (as in " Vicky's handout " ) and

composing edited versions....hmmm.....seems like it's already flowing like it's

supposed to.

Blessings to all of you.

Rebecca
