Guest guest
Hi Everyone~ I am very new to ayurveda and am constantly learning. I have 3 degrees in conventional nutrition and was planning on becomming a dietitian when God had other plans for me. I became pregnant with my first son (2001) and decided to not complete my internship until after he was born. Post birth, I suffered extremely from candida in my breasts. This led me to study more about candida issues and learned that I had really been struggling with it all my life and just never knew it. After being extremely frustrated with my education and wondering why in the world I had not learned of this in school, I changed my focus to alternative medicine. I am currently getting my Doctorate in Naturopathy from Clayton College of Natural Health and have been doing a lot of studying on my own. I had to change what I felt had been a great diet into a pattern that went against my former knowledge (food guide pyramid ) So I have been experimenting with my diet over the past 2 years. I have just recently been reading some on Ayurveda and hope to incorporate more of it's wisdom into my life as I understand it. Because I am home studying I am not working right now but have a lot of people that I still counsel and help. Most of these are mothers, pregnant, nursing, etc. As I learn more of Ayurveda I hope to be able to share this knowledge with them. I use essential oils extensively and am also learning now about aromatherapy and ayurveda and find it intrigueing. I am now pregnant with our second son (due Oct 10thish) and will be birthing at home with a fabulous homebirth midwife. I will be using the oils during my birth as well as incorporating some ayurvedic practices, etc. I just found out today that I am Group B Strep + and would like to ask you for your wisdom on what oils or alternative methods I can use to treat this before giving birth. I would also love any information on candida that anyone would be willing to share as I also want to prevent this from flaring up this time. I am very thankful for this group and I appreciate you sharing your wealth of knowledge with me. Sandy Dwan
