Hi! This is a new word for me. Today it has came up twice, so I take

it from that that I am meant to learn more about it. Earlier today I

was reading a book on colour therapy and this was the first time I

ever seen this word. The book mentioned a man who also did this long

ago. Would you please tell me a little about this?

Thank-You

Tammy Norris

Hi Tammy;

Welcome! How did you find us?

Ayurveda literally means science or pure Knowledge (Veda) of Life

(Ayus)for longevity. Also Mother of Healing. Also knowledge of how

to surf the everchanging waves of life successfully (I especially

like this one well, all three really). Ancient very comprehensive

wholistic medical knowledge from India, whose medical textbooks are

over 5,000 years old and included things from color, gem, homeopathic

and aromatherapy, yoga, breath & meditatation, to the most known,

body type (prakruti) and imbalances (vikruti)of " vata, pitta & kapha "

for specific dietary, herbal and cleansing therapies (panchakarma).

Even some modern surgical techniques have their roots in Ayurveda!

Ayurvedic pulse diagnosis involves up to 7 levels and can pick up

what type of imbalance is found in which tissue or organ or system

and a sort of historical unfoldment of that in the body etc. Amazing

stuff, beyond my skills mostly. My training and specialization is

postpartum, with some broadening in women's health and herbal

support, also aromatherapy.

Hope this is what you wanted?

Blessings,

Marti
