Guest guest
I think I need to clarify what my doctor calls night terrors. They are different from nightmares. Night terrors are when a child cries because they are unable to cycle in and out of sleep patterns successfully. They get caught in between being awake and being asleep. Last night Charlie slept for two hours and then woke every hour and a half crying, plus one waking for nursing. Seven wakings total. I don't actually think I can call them wakings because he isn't really awake. Maybe they are my wakings because he is crying in his sleep. Sometimes he goes back into a deeper sleep more quickly than others. Singing to him seems to calm him more than anything. The doctor actually recommended giving him Benadyrl when he asks the first time to sedate him and maybe break this sleeping cycle. One desperate night I gave it to him. He slept for 5 hours. Longer than he has slept in five months. In my heart I resist this method and haven't given it to him again. Although last night I almost did. Any thoughts? Guest guest
Dear Vicky; Forgive me for taking the weekend off the net...I always feel so bad when a child (ok, anyone) has realtime needs I wasn't there to responde to when being asked. Have you tried any of the things we talked about since SAturday? Whatever the distinctions which can be made, and I'm grateful for the education, the physiological conditions which can be addressed are very similar. I'd try both Adriennies' ideas and Dr. Lads, if I were you. So it sounds like the results of the intuitive healer's work was short lived?
