Dear Members;

This is a request I received today from one of my students in North

Carolina. Rebecca, if you don't mind this discussion being aired

here, I would prefer not only so others can see, but because I'm

having ongoing problems sending outbound mail. Hope this is ok to

post your note; in the future if you will let me know, or just send

Qs here? Response below: Thanks; Martha

Hi miss martha,

please excuse my lack of proper grammar. I have so

many things to catch up on sharing with you. tovia

had a client and the 3 girls and i all helped out for

about 3 days each..the woman wanted 10

days care. I have a little to share about that and

will have more once we all get together and process

the experience. i really only got in about half of a

massage, tandem. there were many dances with taking

care of the babies (tovias and the clients) whew.

I'm gonna jump around, forgive me, but hopefull this

sparks a dialogue that'll last so more will come out.

I really wanted to ask if i could have your permission

to post a handout you'd sent me, onto the asheville

mama group? they do this bit where they archive all

the discussions and each topic has a folder, but the

folder for ayurvedic post partum diet is empty and it

seems that we must put some info in it. not a big

deal, however, if you aren't comfortable with it

either. ...

love you

rebecca

dear REbecca;

Please do post the foods list, and the following article too perhaps

I give permission to be posted not just in Asheville! When we start

talking about your client care, if you want private session let me

know; I usually find phone is better for attending to valuable

details including our time efficiencies. In any case, re online, we

currently have only 4 members, so I'm feeling safe to go ahead and

start here. Be sure to have your internship logsheet handy and note

about what we were talking and for how long, ok?

Yes, you seem to have experienced some of the childcare issues which

are why I am so strong at the upfront client intake to say they are

responsible for their childcare, unless you all agree to take turns.

But you will often not get the chance to observe the massage. And re

the tandem massage, you get thru it quicker, you get support in

refresshing while learning, and you all should take turns being the

lead masseuse depending who is ready.

But then the full go thru is a different experience and well worth

aiming for soon. You will make certainly more money that way too.

My current two students here have been learning well that way, now

one of them is getting very good at solo, having committed enough

times observing and practicing. Keep track your learning practice

sessions, and you should receive something when solo even if you feel

you don't remember the sequence in detail, your client often will not

know, and more importantly, she will feel great anyway. Here my

student level pay is $24 ($12/hour, which includes the counseling

session.)

I still have it on my list to acquire a dual tape play/recorder so I

can copy the tapes of my Boulder classes for you. Best wishes for

your smooth move process.

Many Blessings,

Martha
