Guest guest
Cheri... I'm at the same crossroad. I have found a dentist that seems knowledgeable and willing to replace my fillings. She ordered me to have a blood test called a Clifford test that cost about $260. Even though my insurance won't pay for any of the dental work, I think they will pay for the test. She gave me the kit at the dentist office and I had the blood drawn at my doctor's office. The test results were mailed to my dentist and she gave me a copy of them. Anyhow it tested an extensive list of materials to see what my blood had an immune response to and what would be safe to use in my mouth. She told me that I can't tolerate any metals and that my restorations will be completely porcelain. It might be something to ask your dentist about. If you have any questions feel free to email me at phammtaylr. I am a bit concerned, however, that the filling materials being used are plastic composites - am I not replacing one evil with another? I was told plastic also has a negative effect on our systems, just not as bad as the metal poisoning. Hmmm, there is SOOO much to learn! Any opinions on this one? I'm very interested in this.
