Anyone interested in full text can go to the URL you provide. I can't believe I'm the only one who would prefer to see only URLs instead of full text. Guest guest
Dear Joan, Thank you for your ideas about purposes of posts and what you prefer. I am posting for a different reason, as to what I prefer though. I am posting to inform others and to have a record of the relevent information as a part of the archives here and available to members by searching the past messages. A lot of links go bad after awhile and the information then is no longer available when a person tries to click on it. But if any member decides to do a search here on past messages in our archive a lot of full complete references will pop up. A lot of new members asking questions, are basically the same questions over and over. I am hopefully, trying to educate members into using some of the other features, like our links, the archive search, and our files section also. I started this group because I was not satisfied with the other ones that I found available on . It may not seem like it to others but it requires a lot of work on my part. Not just the postings but behind the scenes. I do it for my own pleasure and to also benefit others. It is a non commercial site and I do not push any product or allow others to do so. There are only a few on that do not in reality push some product or other, and that is why a large part of them were formed. The only pay off for me is I get to do it my way. It is my group and I get to make the rules so to speak. I know that some of my posts are overlong. It is real easy to hit delete if the person is not interested. As for another point that I considered, for the person who's mailbox is to small? They are avilable free from or a lot of other places on the net. So if you have a web tv or a small mailbox, I think that it is better for that person to avail themselves of one of the free mailboxes just to receive newsgroup postings than to expect the group to change to please that person also. No matter how I ran this group, it wouldn't please everyone. I no longer try. I do believe though that we are one of the very best available on . (At least it is, to my standards). There are a few others and most of those people are mentioned in our links page also or I invite them to post here too. That you will not find on most groups. Just like there is a lot of misinformation in allopathic medicine, there is a lot of misinformation in the nutritional health approach too or a subtle sales bias. I make the same amount of money out of this group whether there is 10 members or 1000. A few members contribute greatly and they are invaluable. But, most members just read the posts and/or do not contribute much of anything of value here. Yet the information that they receive is worth many times the value of most of the paid newsletters that are d to by millions of people who pay from $50 to $100 a year for, and probably receive 1% of the information available here. In fact you will probably read about it here before it comes out in the paid newsletters. I only mention this to put a little balance and perspective in to what people expect and want, and what price does it cost them. No matter what, this group will not please everyone, nor did I ever expect it to. Some people will leave and find a group more to their liking or they might start one of their own. This I understand. respectfully, Frank > ~~~~~~~~~~~ > > Frank, all the info you send is interesting, but I think it would suffice to > provide the URLs and a brief description rather than complete text. Guest guest
Dear Sheldon, There should be a list of gettingwell addresses at the bottom of each post or digest e-mailed to members. There should be one for the group site at the link that says: Gettingwell/ Just go to the home (front) page and read the links on the left hand column for messages, links, files, databases, etc. To search the archives just go to the same home page and hit messages in the left hand column, then at the top of that page enter and subject and hit " search " , or enter any message by number in the other small box and hit " go " . At the bottom, there should also be links to post, , , moderator, no mail, regular or digest. Is this not showing up? I ask because I do not receive any mail from any of the groups that I belong to. As for myself and all of the groups that I belong to, I choose NO mail and read the posts, by going to the relevent board, and reading the ones that I want to read there. I kinda pick and choose by author or subject or just read the first few lines and then go to the next if it does not interest me. regards, Frank Gettingwell , " sheldon gesensway " <afineway@m...> wrote: > Thank you for your excellent information.
