Hi,

We have observed all kinds of cancer, but Prostate is my problem and I am

putting the history here with some analysis from my standpoint.

PCa history and Analysis

Over the last eleven years I have learned quite a bit about PCa. One thing I

have learned is that when a man is diagnosed with stage 4 [D] PCa with the

best standard treatment the medical establishment believes they are doing

well to have 60% still alive in five years and 10% still alive in 10 years.

Since this was written I have learned that the figures here are a little

pessimistic.

In January of 1991 during a routine physical I was found via a DRE to have

an enlarged Prostate. I was referred to a Uroligist, Dr. Charles Reynolds

at St. Mary's hospital in Knoxville who confirmed that finding and arranged

for a Biopsy.

This was done at St. Mary's and all cores showed Malignant. There was no

Gleason score given. Dr. Reynolds simply told me that some PCa was very

aggressive and most were slow developing and mine was in between. It was

not slow.

On March 8, 1991 blood tests showed a PSA of 75. A bone scan indicated no

spread and it was decided to go with a Radical Prostectomy.

The operation was set up for March 19, 1991. During the procedure it was

found that the cancer had metastasized to the lymph glands and the operation

was aborted. Doctor Reynolds told me that was not the answer to the

problem. Mine was stage IV, or D.

Today, going into the tenth year, the PSA is 19.1 and improving. Very recent

bone and body scans have shown no evidence of metastasis. I am way better

off than I was nine years ago.

I have had no standard treatment nor drugs since October 19, 1995. This was

due to confidence in the use of Flaxseed Oil and cottage cheese from what I

knew of Dr. Johanna Budwig's procedures in Germany. I plan to continue this

approach.

In no way am I urging anyone to do what I have done. That is up to each

individual. I have learned much from the lists and am grateful for them. I

compliment Don Cooley for setting them up.

The rest of this account is a description of what was done, mistakes that

were made, and things learned to the present date, Feb 22, 2000. [and to

the present Jan 8, 2002]

American Medical people seem reluctant to experiment with anything just for

the sake of the health of people like me.

Let's face it, medicine and drugs are big bucks and they are not in business

primarily for my health. Patients like me pay the bills and that keeps the

business going.

In early April I, 1991 began Lupron & Eulexin. I was the first on whom my

doctor used it. I also had learned of the Work of Dr. Johanna Budwig in

Germany with flaxseed oil and cottage cheese and found a source and began to

use it at two tablespoons a day with a half cup of cottage cheese. Lupron

shots were given monthly.

PSAs were done at 6 month intervals.

March 5, 1991 the PSA was 75.

On Sept 18, 1991 the PSA was 0.2 .

March 26, 1992 the PSA was 0.1

August 25, 1992 the PSA was 0.0

Feb 23, 1993 The PSA was 0.1

August 23, 1993 The PSA was 0.2

Feb 19, 1994 The PSA was 0.1

1

August, 21, 1994 The PSA was 0.0

Feb 1995 The PSA was 0.6

Oct 19, 1995 The PSA was 1.1

May 5, 1996 The PSA was 1.6

I had not noticed until less that a year ago that the PSA had begun rising

the last 14 months that I was using Lupron and Eulexin. When I realized it

I thought that might be an indication of the start of becoming refactory.

I was not using enough FO/CC and following no other dietary restrictions. I

didn't know them then.

Dec. 9, 1997 The PSA was 1.46

Aug 7, 1998 The PSA was 4.89

This got my attention. It had tripled in just a little over 7 months. I

was only using 1 tablespoon of FO/CC and sometimes neglecting that. I went

to 2 tablespoons of FO/CC [The tablesoons are the flaxseed oil, the cottage

cheese is added].

The next PSA I did in 3 months.

Nov 6, 1998 PSA 8.78

It was not enough FO. Now I went to 4 tablespoons a day of FO with CC

added.

February 1999 PSA was 10.1. This was a 13 % rise instead of 100 %.

This seemed to have it made. The Oncologist was not unhappy with this. Now

I got careless with the CC and sometimes neglected to get enough sulfur

based proteins.

May 99 PSA now 14.4, a 43% rise. Now I went to five tablespoons a day and

was careful about the protein.

May 99 to Aug 99 PSA now 18.4, an increase of 28%. It was slowing and I

stayed on that amount. I found out about the use of plant based digestive

enzymes and added that.

Oct.18, 1999 PSA 16.4

Nov 1999. PSA 18.7

Jan 5, 2000 PSA 22.2

Feb 15 PSA 19.1

This was a 3.1 drop in the last six weeks.

A Bone Scan and Prostascint in mid to late December showed no evidence of

metastasis. One of the effects of Flaxseed oil is its ability to prevent or

retard metastasis. One does not die of prostate cancer, one dies of the

cancer in the areas to which it metasisizes. If it does not metastasize

there is no real problem.

April 1, 2000 I PSA 12 .9.

UP to this point the PSAs seemed to be stable and under control.

Now I began to be under a lot of stress. I was getting queen bees and

making young hives of bees for people and the weather was not right and I

began to be under a lot of stress.

May 21 The PSA was 20.2

July 7 The PSA was 22.1

The PSA had gone up. Possibly due to stress. At this point we did some

traveling and I was under a lot of stress and fatigue.

Aug 21 The PSA wasw 40

I decided to try another Lupron shot in case I might not be refactory. This

happens when strains of PCa develop which are not affected by lack of

testosterone and the Lupron and Eulexin are no longer effective. I also

added a mushroom extract, Agaricus Blazei Morrel, which is a big source of

Beta Glucan, an immune system enhancer that I believe is better by a

significant margin than MGN-3 or other immune system boosters. However,

this did not get started until a month after the PSA of 40.

I decided to do another PSA at the start of the Lupron and Agaricus.

Sept. 21 The PSA was 36

It had dropped to 36 with the FO/CC alone.

Oct 19 the PSA was 7.9

Dec 9, 2000 the PSA was 1.7

In 2 and 1/2 months the count was 1.7 and a body scan in the last week of

December 2000 showed no evidence of cancer. I didn't know whether it was

the Lupron or the Agaricus or a combination.

Feb 5, 2001, the PSA was 4.9

FO/CC alone was not preventin a rise. I began using Beta Glucan but did not

use enough apparently.

Mar 26 the PSA was 8. 4

I raised the FO/CC a little and added a higher amount of Beta Glucan and

added High vitamin C of which need I had just learned.

I was now using 800 mgs of Beta Glucan and 5000 mgs of vitamin C. The high

vitamin C must be present to make the Glucan work. I went back to 5

tablespoons of FO a day.

May 9 The PSA was 12.7

July 23 The PSA was 12.3

Now thing s seemed to be holding about even. There was actually a slight

drop in PSA.

I now went to 3000 mgs of Beta Glucan a day and 8000 mgs of vitamin C.

On Sept 4 the PSA was 13.5. This was a rise of 1.2. Things seemed pretty

well in check.

About this time I learned that the effectiveness of the vitamin C was also

affected by bioflavinoids which work synergistacally with the vitamin C. I

didn't know just what to get, and also learned that Probiotics might help a

lot as " 80% of the effectiveness of the immune system was in the gut " . I

began working on the rebounder again to some extent to keep the lymph system

working.

On October 21 the PSA went to 23 which was a rise of 9.5 points. We were

away and I did not get the result until November 7.

Again I had been under a lot of stress

I decided to take another Lupron shot in case I was not refactory and get

the PSA down to low levels and begin again.

The PSA taken Dec 20, 2001 was 7.4.

I had another Lupron shot Dec 8 and will have another PSA on Jan 21, 2002.

For 2002:

The PSA on Jan 21 was 7.1

The PSA on March 4 was 9.2

The PSA on April 15 was 11.4

The PSA on JUly 15 was 12.7

The PSA on Sept 3 was 14.4

The PSA on Sept 3 was 20.3

In early August I added Artemisinin to the mix.

Sept 4 I began the use of Elagic Acid. We will see what happens.

Most Prostate Cancers are slow gowing. Mine was not the most aggressive at

diagnosis but was not slow. If a Gleason score had been done then

indications are it would have been a 7 to 8. My Oncologist feels that is

likely more aggessive than that by now but it isn't worth a biopsy to find

out.

That was eleven years and ten months ago.

There are at least 30 different strains of PCa,

none of which respond exactly the same to any approach. When Prostectomies

are done the average number of strains present in the removed gland is 7.

I will go with 3000 mgs of Beta Glucan a day with 9000 mgs of Vitamin C with

a bioflavinoid, Querciten added for maximum effect.

I will continue the use of the rebounder to keep the lymphatic system going

and flush the lymph nodes where the killer T cells are.

I visited my original Urologist last year for the last Lupron shot. I

stopped in again Oct 31, 2002 for another Lupron shot. I don't know how

much good it will do. In Aug the testosterone level was only 27 and at

least part of that is from the Adrenal gland.

A DRE indicated a hardness one one side of the Prostate Gland but the other

side was soft.

He told me that to that I was doing wonderfully well and looked great for

one close to 81 and he could not argue with what I was doing.
