I was wondering if anyone could share any information on how to overcome

heart disease. My mom has extremely high cholesterol and so far has had two

angioplasty's. She doesn't take any vitamins and is desperately trying to

change her eating habits. I would like to have her around a bit longer.

She's only 62. Any advice will be appreciated.

Thanks!

Sheila

Look into what this guy has to say: www.deaddoctors.com I'd never buy any

of his overpriced products, but you can find out what to buy elsewhere.

Also, flax seed oil and hawthorn berry are crucial to heart health IMO. If

I miss a couple days of either one, my angina comes back.

Dear Sheila,

A copper deficiency can cause high cholesterol. Perhaps she

could try several milligrams of copper extra each day. If she has in

addition hemorrhoids, varicose veins, herniated discs, or anemia it

would be a strong indication that she is, indeed, suffering from a

copper deficiency.

one of the easiest options to decrease chelestrol is to drink one gallon of

water every day.

---Sheila,

Your mom is still relatively young and should be able to reverse

her symptoms taking the correct herbs and supplements. My heart

problems surfaced during my fifties. I somehow think they were

directly related to my menopausal symptoms, as somehow a lack of

progesterone and an abundance of estrogen circulating in the blood

can contribute to these heart problems.

Rest assured that whether it is caused by menopause or just aging, it

can be reversed with the proper diet, herbs and supplements! .

It is my opinion that the most important vitamins for this are

extra Magnesium, Vitamin E and selenium, Coenzyme Q10, Hawthorne and

Gingko. Of course there are others, however Magnesium helps to relax

the main arteries that enter the heart, promoting a more healthy blood

flow to the heart.

Does she have HBP also? If so, is she taking an abundance of

calcium? Although physicians frequently recommend extra calcium as

part of the cure, I find that an excess of calcium will only

contribute to existing stores of arteriosclerotic plaque.

I would change her calcium-magnesium supplements from 2:1 to 1:1,

until her problems are alleviated. I also advise 400 mgs of magnesium

oxide, morning and night. This has helped me tremendously!

Potassium is also helpful for HBP. Cut out all canned processed foods

containing excessive sodium, replacing them with fresh, raw foods

with an abundance of potassium. The foods I've found the most useful

are blackstrap molasses, bananas, celery & unsweetened grape juice.

Drinking eight glasses of purified bottled water each day is

beneficial for fluid arteries.

Another suggestion would be to avoid any highly refined oils, any

snacks or baked goods containing hydrogenated oils & margarines(

Benecol & Take Control, also)which contain LDL-(bad) cholesterol,

replacing them with Extra-virgin Olive oils. Extra-virgin olive oils

tend to elevate the good cholesterol levels, thereby helping to

eliminate the harmful artery clogging fats(LDLs).

I've found that eating an abundance of good Organic foods helps

immensely as the free radicals in residues promote artery buildup. It

is especially important to get all her Dairy, meat and

poultry " dioxin-free " and from an organic source! These dioxins and

residues are part of the problem and we need to eliminate them from

our diets!

Here are a few sites that outline the details:

http:www.horizonorganic.com

http://www.laurasleanbeef.com

http://www.food-for-life.com

Foods that Raise Good HDL Cholesterol:

Onions, raw

Garlic (fresh is best)

Salmon, mackerel, sardines, tuna and other fatty fish (avoid farmed

varieties)

Oysters, Mussels

Grape Seed extracts/Oil

Almonds

Avocadoes

Red Grapes/wines

Extra Virgin Olive Oils

Vitamin C rich foods (bell peppers, broccoli, oranges)

Beta-carotene-rich foods (carrots, spinach, broccoli)

Wine, beer, alcohol in moderation

Caution:

Very-low-fat Diets containing hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated

oils and fats depress HDLs.

I have found these remedies to be very effective and have been able

to reverse my heart and artery problems with all natural remedies and

using the above guidelines.

Hi Joanne,

I am so glad that you could reverse your heart disease.

I agree very much with your post, but I notice that you did not

mention vitamin C in the treatment and reversal of heart disease.

I am sure that you are familiar with the work done by Linus Pauling

and Mattias Rath on reversing plaque by using vitamin C, but you do

not mention C in your answer, so I thought that I would ask your

opinion on Rath's claim that the plaque is a stabilizing cement to

shore up the arteries due to a lack of C and deterioration of the

arteries, etc.

Also, I am sure that you know about the brothers, Drs. Shute who

reversed heart disease in the 1940's with large doses (at the time)

of vitamin E. Although you mention Vitamin E, I wanted to say to the

group, that it must be taken in suffecient quantities usually not

found in the average multivitamin.

I also think that since no vitamin works well without the others, I

also consider a good multi as part of the any solution as most of us

do not get suffecient vitamins in our diet.

kind regards,

Frank

Thanks to everyone who replied. This information will not only help me help

my mother by myself and my brother as well. We both have hypertension and

borderline cholesterol.

Blessings to all who replied!

Doctor Dean Ornish's diet works for many people, if you can stay on it.

Check out his books.

I try to get at least a heaping teaspoon a day. I won't hurt you in large

amounts. I get it finely ground from an herbalist by the pound. It needs

to be refrigerated because, like all seeds, it's slightly oily. One time I

got whole berries, but they have to be boiled and soaked too long to be

convenient. They made pretty good tea, but then I chewed them to get more

benefit and I didn't think they were breaking up well enough to be

thoroughly digested. They're small and hard as ball bearings, LOL.

---Frank,

Hi! Well I'm quite happy too. I actually never thought that I would

be able to reverse the symptoms so well. I guess when one is really

determined to find their way naturally, they just search until they

find their own individual answers! The message that I wrote to sheila

wasn't intended to provide a comprehensive rundown on all the

benefits of various vitamins and minerals that are useful for

reversing heart disease. That would take an entire book.

<LOL

I have taken large doses of Vitamin C all my life and in fact was

doing so at the time that I first experienced my initial heart

problems.

For anyone who is not taking C vitamins, I would recommend that they

do so without delay. The health food store was my fav'rite place when

I started having my heart problems. That's why it is so ironic that I

experienced them in the first place.

In retrospect,I guess I expected these vitamins to offset the effects

of a bad diet high in processed and fast foods and that simply didn't

materialize!

I firmly believe that the mineral deficiency that exists in our

food supply, so prevalent from excessive use of pesticides and

free radicals in our food supply, had much to do with the poor health

of my arteries.

I found that taking high doses of Magnesium and COQ10 which is more

prevalent in heart muscle than any other organ in the body,

with the herbal Hawthorne Berry, reversed my problems effectively,

for an overabundance of calcium, frequently prescribed for menopausal

women (and sometimes men with HBP also),

without a proper intake of magnesium to utilize our existing

enzymes, is of little use and will inevitably only contribute to

existing artery plaque.

We all need vitamin E, however I find that vitamin E found in foods

(i.e.organic eggs etc.)is so much more beneficial than any that can

be found in supplement form. I've recently found that many of the E

vitmins now contain gmo-soy lecithin. Not good!

Also, one important factor regarding E. Vitamin E should not be taken

in excessive quantities when high blood pressure is an issue...

according to a host of various experts.

I firmly believe that artery plaque is largely due to the buildup

of hydrogenated fats that collect whenever free radicals are present

in the bloodstream. Free radicals damage arteries.

My problems were not resolved until I was able to completely forgo

the processed, refined fats so prevalent in our Western Diets.

The free radicals come from both our environment and food supply.

Free radicals with an abundance of n-6s, present in mayonnaise,

margarines and other fast foods are a large part of the problem.

It is important to get the right vitamins and minerals in the

correct amounts, however I find that I'm just not able to do this

with multivitamin capsules. The RDAs were initiated in the early

forties when pollution was minimal. They simply do not address the

chemical insults our bodies have to deal with today.

I truly find the fabulous Organic foods

I now eat provide a host of nutritional benefits also.

does anyone believe in the wearing of copper bracelets?

Re: Help with Heart Disease

Dear Sheila,

A copper deficiency can cause high cholesterol. Perhaps she

could try several milligrams of copper extra each day. If she has in

addition hemorrhoids, varicose veins, herniated discs, or anemia it

would be a strong indication that she is, indeed, suffering from a

copper deficiency.

Sincerely, Charles Weber

I went to a local Whole Foods market, where a supplements clerk representing

the Gaia herbal company, persuaded me to purchase a Hawthorn tincture. The

price was low, so I agreed to try it.

She also told me, that the company puts out a " solid " hawthorn product, like

a gel, or whatever, which can be taken a spoonful at a time.

She told me that the tincture, and especially this more solid prepartion of

Hawthorn, were more effective than a powder would be. The market didn't

have powdered Hawthorn in their herbal bulk bins, so I'll keep looking for

it.

John, I think a tincture would be excellent. No doubt the best way to take

hawthorn berry. I've been meaning to make my own, but never get around to

it at the right phase of the moon (tinctures should be strained off on the

full moon. Sounds silly, but moon phases are somewhat important in many

herbal processes.).

I get the ground berries for $8.50 a pound in a vacuum packed package from

www.spicediscounters.com . You might want to call them for a catalog before

ordering, because their shipping is a flat $5-6 and they have everything. I

hate to order just a few items when the shipping is a flat rate LOL.

1-800-610-5950 I'm pretty sure she grinds her own when you order it.

The only place I know of with better prices is www.iherb.com , but they

don't have bulk hawthorn. Yikes! The Gaia tincture is $15.50 there! Make

your own, man!

" Bad Cholesterol " : A Myth and a Fraud!

Topics About the Author Mission Statement Miracles of Water Asthma

Eradication Program " Bad Cholesterol " : A Myth and A Fraud Medical Report

AIDS Discovery Arthritis Pain Report Reviews Scientific Information on

Dehydration Testimonials

We in the medical profession, totally oblivious of the vital roles of

cholesterol in the body, have been duped into thinking that it is this substance

that causes arterial disease of the heart and the brain. The pharmaceutical

industry has capitalized on the slogan of " bad cholesterol " and has produced

toxic-to-the-body chemicals that minimally lower the level of cholesterol in the

body and in the process cause liver damage to thousands of people, some who die

as a result of using the medication.

It is surprising that none of the frequently quoted and media-popularized

doctors has reflected on the fact that cholesterol levels are measured from

blood taken from the veins, yet nowhere in medical literature is there a single

case of cholesterol having caused obstruction of the veins. Venous blood moves

far slower than arterial blood and thus would be more inclined to have

cholesterol deposits if the assumption of " bad cholesterol " were accurate. This

mistake by us in the medical community, and its capitalization by the

pharmaceutical industry, has caused an ongoing fraud against society.

In truth, the so-called " bad " cholesterol is actually far more beneficial than

is appreciated. The reason for its rise in the body is because of complications

caused by chronic unintentional dehydration and insufficient urine production.

Dehydration produces concentrated, acidic blood that becomes even more

dehydrated during its passage through the lungs before reaching the heart –

because of evaporation of water in the lungs during breathing. The membranes of

the blood vessels of the heart and main arteries going up to the brain become

vulnerable to the shearing pressure produced by the thicker, acidic blood. This

shearing force of toxic blood causes abrasions and minute tears in the lining of

the arteries that can peel off and cause embolisms of the brain, kidneys and

other organs. To prevent the damaged blood vessel walls from peeling,

low-density (so-called " bad " ) cholesterol coats and covers up the abrasions and

protects the underlying tissue like a waterproof bandage until the tissue heals.

Thus, the vital, life-saving role of low-density cholesterol proves this

substance is of utmost importance in saving the lives of those who do not

adequately hydrate their bodies so that their blood can flow easily through the

blood vessels without causing damage.

Cholesterol is an element from which many of our hormones are made. Vitamin D is

made by the body from cholesterol in our skin that is exposed to sunlight.

Cholesterol is used in the insulating membranes that cover our nerve systems.

There is no such a thing as bad cholesterol. If all the primary ingredients are

available for its normal functions, the human body does not engage in making

things that are bad for its survival. Until now we did not know water was a

vital nutrient that the body needed at all times – and in sufficient quantity.

Water itself – not caffeinated beverages that further dehydrate – is a better

cholesterol-lowering medication than any chemical on the market. It is

absolutely safe and is not harmful to the body like the dangerous medications

now used. Please share this information with those you care for.

For more information about my medical breakthrough on the topic of chronic

unintentional dehydration and the diseases it causes, other than what is posted

on this site, refer to my books and tapes – products of over 20 years of

fulltime research.

You can buy the individual herbs and soak them in vodka for 2 weeks or

longer, then strain out the herbs and you have tincture. The alcohol

releases the medicinal properties of the herbs so you only need drops of

tincture as compared to spoonfulls of the dried herb. Many herbs (no, I

don't know which ones) aren't very effective unless they've been soaked in

alcohol.

A good way to strain it is thru a knee-high nylon stocking. Then you can

wring it out well and get the strongest possible tincture. Store it in dark

brown bottles or at least in a dark place. Once the herbs have been made

into tinctures, they will last almost indefinitely without losing potency.

Here's some more info:
