Guest guest
Gettingwell/database Dear Group, We have started a database section on our database page. Wow, what a coincidence of names huh? It is for doctors or practicioners who use natural medicine to treat patients. It is still small and only has a handfull of listings at this point , but hopefully it will grow. The people that we will include will have to be fairly stable established people for us to display them. We do not guarantee anything. All information on this site is for your investigation purposes. You make up your own mind whether to use or not any information here at your own volition and at your own risk whether in our files, links, databases etc. The doctor databe is here on our databaes page.: Gettingwell/database Frank
Guest guest
Frankly, the problem is not in identifying those doctors that " call " themselves " natural " practitioners, but identifying those doctors that aren't busy hoodwinking a gullible population, desperate to find options to orthodox medicine. There are as many doctors of natural medicine, driven by their lust for cold cash, as their are orthodox doctors so driven. - " califpacific " <califpacific Monday, November 04, 2002 6:04 PM Database of natural medicine doctors. > Gettingwell/database > > Dear Group, > > We have started a database section on our database page. Guest guest
Dear John, Unfortunately, I agree with you, to many have found out the buzzward to get patients is to espouse natural medicine when most don't have a clue, but if push comes to shove and a person really needs a doctor in a bad way (there are some things, that are very difficult or impossible to do for oneself), his chances of getting less destructive/more beneficial treatment will probably be better if the doctor even tries to practice orthomolecular or similiar type of medicine. We are in no way saying that you should wholeheartedly trust any doctor. Also, there are a few good guys that know the score and are honestly trying to learn and practice a different brand of medicine than that stipulated by the AMA, even though it puts them in adversary position with somewhat usually bad consequences. In some of our links page we cite some doctors who have battled with the establishment trying to bring real health to their practice. There are others. In our database list, we are not reccomending these doctors or stating that they are good for any certain treatment. The process to do that would be way beyond the scope or the ability of this group. In our database there is also room for comments as to feeedback about any specific doctor, if there are areas of good or poor knowledge and methods. Also a lot of people will not read and learn for themselves or never find exactly what they need to read and will never do anything other than present themselves to someone else to fix. Which, if the patients health were to be the main aim of the sytem would probably work. After all, with medical care being one of the major expenses of our society, our medical care should be one of the best, not one of the worst. In reality what I believe should take place is that a patient is given all of the options with real info and no gimmicked studies or marketing BS, it should have no place in a good system of health care. I don't think that is ever going to happen. So we have to make do with what we can. I wish that I could find a really good doctor for myself. I have never found one yet. I don't want to be my own doctor. That should be the job of the doctors. That is the reason that they get a lot of money. Unfortunately, If I don't want to be drugged, radiated or cut, damaged, mutilated etc, I don't have much choice, but to read, search and do the research myself and if I need one, I might do better if the guy even knows how to spell " Orthomolecular " just my 2 cents, Frank Gettingwell, " John Polifronio " <counterpnt@e...> wrote: > Frankly, the problem is not in identifying those doctors that " call " > themselves " natural " practitioners, but identifying those doctors that > aren't busy hoodwinking a gullible population, desperate to find options to > orthodox medicine. If anything will be done about incompetent practitioners, hiding behind their natural health labels, it will have to be the result of remarks made by their patients. This is also true of their methods of treatment. If people were willing to speak honestly about their experiences with doctors of all kinds, and the results they got after submitting to costly therapies, people could make far better judgments about which practitioners to see and which methods to try. This is potentially such an ambitious project, that it would have to be on a state by state basis. California is unusually large, and can boast having among the largest number of alternative-care doctors anywhere on the planet. But, rest assured, half of them are incompetent, which is bad enough, but many of that half, are also outright fakes and hustlers. I've been to my share of them, and couldn't believe how cynical and greedy some of them can be.
Guest guest
Dear Pam, Yes, that is exactly what we are looking for. Any practicioner who is well grounded in natural medicine. Orthomolecular, NDs, Herbal, Nutritionists, ChineseTraditional etc..as long as they are real pros. There are quite a few others. At this time we are not accepting names only in the Woo-Woo category. thanks, Frank Gettingwell, " Pam B " <PamB@w...> wrote: > > can we suggest NDs that we have worked with and know are good to be added to the database? Guest guest
Dear John, To clarify about our database. We aren't trying to evaluate most doctors out there who say they practice alternative methods, but to just have a list, so that when someone has to look for a doctor, who does practice decent medicine, they can look through our list to add to their choices. As you know, it is very hard to find a doctor who practices this brand of medicine, so our list probably will not be a very long one. Also, our members are from all over the world so it will natually need to encompass wherever they are. That is why I am asking for all members who have found a good one to pass it on to the group to ba added to our database. The doctor and practioner can be a naturopath, orthomolecular, Chinese Tradional, etc. I know that you members in Canada have quite a few naturopaths don't you? The same with some of you in certain states like Washington and Oregon? Or Others? thanks, Frank Gettingwell, " califpacific " <califpacific> wrote: > Great John, > > At this point would you help me get a large membership that is > motivated, to help us. > > thanks, > Frank > > > Gettingwell, " John Polifronio " <counterpnt@e...> wrote: > > Frank > > Let me know the ways. > > John P. > > - > > " califpacific " <califpacific> > > <Gettingwell> > > Monday, November 04, 2002 9:43 PM > > Re: Database of natural medicine doctors. > > > > > > > Dear John, > > > > > > Does this mean that you will help? > > > > > > Just kidding, I know thta you try and help many people in any > number > > > of groups. > > > > > > Frank > > > > > > PS. the database is world wide. lol > > > > > > > > > Gettingwell, " John Polifronio " <counterpnt@e...> > wrote: > > > > > > > > - > > > > " califpacific " <califpacific> > > > > <Gettingwell> > > > > . > > > > > In our database there is also room for comments as to > feeedback > > > about > > > > > any specific doctor, if there are areas of good or poor > knowledge > > > and > > > > > methods. > > > > ____________ > > > > > > > > Great! Guest guest
I'm searching my memory for a single " alternative " doctor that I can recommend. One, a Dr. Gerald Benesh, aside from his unscientific involvement in iridology, provided people with excellent natural diet therapies, together with fasting and other natural methods. His approach was well known to many people in the California area, and I only visited him twice, with wonderful results. Unfortunately, at 90 years of age, he's probably no longer in practice in Southern Calif. I once went to a chiropractor who was able to relieve my back pain with a lower back adjustment and manipulation; the pain never returned. She was already in her early 80s when I visited her, and that was 20 years ago. In all honesty, I cannot recommend a single one of the dozen alternative doctors I have visited since. They were, in every case, either complete charlatans, incompetent, or peddling fake cures, and absurdly expensive supplements out of their offices. I'm still looking and trying. If I run into someone I can respect and recommend, I'll let you know. - " califpacific " <califpacific Wednesday, November 06, 2002 12:41 AM Re: Database of natural medicine doctors. > Dear John, > > To clarify about our database. > > We aren't trying to evaluate most doctors out there who say they > practice alternative methods, but to just have a list, so that when > someone has to look for a doctor, who does practice decent medicine, > they can look through our list to add to their choices. > > As you know, it is very hard to find a doctor who practices this > brand of medicine, so our list probably will not be a very long one. > > Also, our members are from all over the world so it will natually > need to encompass wherever they are. > > That is why I am asking for all members who have found a good one to > pass it on to the group to ba added to our database. > > The doctor and practioner can be a naturopath, orthomolecular, > Chinese Tradional, etc. > > I know that you members in Canada have quite a few naturopaths don't > you? > > The same with some of you in certain states like Washington and > Oregon? Guest guest
Dear John, I, like you, have never found one personally in my area, but I kinda quit trying after awhile. But, I have heard and read about a few who I think would be much better than the average one out there. I would probably try a couple of the ones that are listed in the links, rather than just going to the average allopath out there. That, I have found out is a good way to get damaged. I have found that finding a good health practicioner is a very big problem, at least for me. That is why, I was hoping that as a group we could pool our information so to speak. thanks, Frank Gettingwell, " John Polifronio " <counterpnt@e...> wrote: > I'm searching my memory for a single " alternative " doctor that I can > recommend.
