Contact Congress to Remove Fluoridation from Dental Health Bills

Hi health Activists & Cinsumers,

Congressional Legislation increasing funds for Dental Health programs have

sections providing for water fluoridation programs. The scientific and medical

studies keep on appearing showing flouridation to be a health disater with the

momentum of good public relations that made it difficult to rescue the

reputations of the Public Health and Dental Authorities who too quickly put

their reputations on the line promoting its benefits.

A fluordation accident in Dublin,Caifornia on June 4,2002 as reported in the

Daily Review stated " Water samples... showed concentrations of about 250 parts

per million-more than 100 times greater than allowed. " Fluoridationists argue

that if fluoride is kept to only 1 part per million, the toxic hazzards of

fluorde will not be felt. But accidents do happen and this is not the first time.

In Belgium, the Health Minister Magda Aelovet has studied all the accumulating

medical warnings from increased cancer risk, bone fracture and decreased

intelligence. Europe has been much more skeptical of the sudden " rehabilitation

and promotion of fluoride " since 1945. So many respected Health Authorities

signed on to fluoridation--vouching for its safety, that it threatens their

credibility on more important issues-like cancer and AIDS treatments, chemical

spraying and bioterrorism. If they admit they made an honest mistake due to the

Federal Governments withholding and classifying the real data on fluoride use

and effects during manufacture of the Atomic Bomb during the cold war, people

would think maybe these experts can be " used " to give calming assurances that

all is well--when maybe it isn't.

The Senate bill S. 1626 Children's Dental Health improvement Act of 2001 was

introduced by Senator Jeff Bingaman of New Mexico and referred to the Senate

Finance Committee, Sen. Max Baucus of Montana is Chairman. The fluoridation

provision can be found in the summary and in Section 301(b)(3)

Each State has 2 senators. You can find out who your senators are by going to

www.senate.gov click on Senators by State. For each senator click the name and

you will go to his web page which has a place to contact by Email or snail mail.

You can send them an email message.Since medical studies show fluoride possibly

causing increased cancer, bone fracture and birth defects, ask them to remove

the fluoridation provision in sec. 301(b)(3) a sample letter or Email follows:

Dear Senator___________:

The Children's Dental Health Act of 2001 contains a provision to support water

fluoridation. This discredited policy adds a known health hazzard to our water

supply.

Every year major medical and scientific journals publish more studies confirming

the health dangers. It was reported in the Journal of Epidemiology ,1996 Dec.

vol.6(4):184-19 that fluoride in drinking water was linked to increased rates of

uterine cancer mortality. Previously there were reports linking fluoride to

harmful effects on the Central Nervous System " with implications for " motor

dysfunction,IQ deficits and or learning disabilities in humans.. " published in

Neurotoxicology and Teratology, Vol. 17, no.2,1995 pp.169-177. .

Because of this danger please remove the provision on water fluoridation in

section 301(b)(3) or oppose the bill.

Sincerely,

Your name

introduced by Representative Murtha of Pennsylvania has been referred to

theHealth Subcommittee of the Ways & Meams Committee.

This subcommittee is chaired byRep. Nancy Johnson of Connecticut.

Another House bill is the Dental Health Improvement Act HR 4476 sponsored by

Rep.Bernie Sanders of Vermont and referred to the Energy & Commerce Committee

and referred to the Subcommitte in Health chaired by Rep. Michael Bilirakis.

To contact your Congressional Representative got to www.house.gov Click on Housey. On the right side of the page Click on Write your representative, you

need to put in your state and zipcode. click contact your representative.

a sample letter follows:

Dear Congressman________:

Please remove the water fluoridation provisions from the Denral Health

Improvement Act,HR 4476 section 340G9(b)(9) and the Children's Dental Health

Improvement Act of 2002 section 301(b)(3).

Reports keep coming out in major journals warning of Health dangers. Increased

Uterine Cancer in the Journal of Epidemiology,1996 Dec. vol.6(4):184-191. Other

reports of Cental Nervous system harm, motor dysfunction and IQ deficits were

in Neurotoxicology & Teratology,1995,vol.17(2):169-177 and Bone Fracture in the

elderly as in Journal of the American Medical Assn March 8,1995 pp.775

If these provisions are not removed vote please vote against the bills. It is a

colossal waste of money to actually make people sicker.

Sincerely,

Your Name
