Guest guest
I have read enough now to know that cancer feeds on sugar and it is advisable to avoid sugar. Yet the same readings I am getting will recommend eating fruits and drinking juice. Fruits are sugar so this doesnt make any sense to me at all. Btw fruit juice sends my insulin levels over the top. If someone would explain it to me I would appreciate it. Btw I have also heard high insulin levels also equated with cancer. sharon
Guest guest
Sharon, You are beginning to get the picture. What they are telling us to eat does not make sense and is not consistent with what scientists are learning about many problems which includes cancer loving sugar and deficiencies of proteins and nutrients from it being involved in a host of neurological disorders. Just don't listen to them - ego and politics are running the show right now on dietary guidelines. Pick up an Atkins book - he presents a very good diet to follow and what is best to eat for the nutritients at the least expense. For example, fresh fruit has better nutrients without the sugar you get in juices. So why drink jucices? Eat fruit. Drink water. The best fruit are berries - low sugar and high high in other nutrients. He has devoted his career to this, has studied it well and identified the best to eat with the least potential of bad. - shar2 Gettingwell Thursday, September 12, 2002 10:57 AM ? on sugar and cancer I have read enough now to know that cancer feeds on sugar and it is advisable to avoid sugar. Guest guest
---Sharon, Processed/pasteurized juices i.e. Minute maid, etc...are literally devoid of essential nutrients. Fresh squeezed juices are not to be considered even in the same category as the others. I think you will find real benefits from fresh squeezed and whole fruits as they contain a wealth of beneficial fiber and are high in enzyme content. americans on average only get between 15% and 25% fiber in their diets, which is not enough. Those who derive more fiber from their diets are seen to have extremely lower cancer risks. Apple pectin is beneficial for cancer. Also medicinal mushrooms, reishi, maitake and shitake are available in tablet form. Med. mushrooms build up the immune system by increasing the T-cells. Yes sugar feed cancer cells. The little cancer capillaries thrive on sugar and hydrogenated fats/oils are also known to spread cancer by changing the cell structure. Refined sugar depletes our B-vitamin stores which lays us wide open to free radical attack.
