Guest guest
Been doing that for the last year and they are much better tasting as well as much healthier. I add lots of herbs, ginger and/or garlic to mine and they taste delicious. Guest guest
Popeye's Girl was named Olive Oyle. ?Sp? Everything I ever read about this says That " Extra Extra Extra Virgin " is the first pressing of the oil! Now- all kidding aside, why is not just simply: " Virgin Olive Oil " the first pressing. My guess is because someone was cheating or lying and selling a second or third pressing labeled with the traditional first pressing label --Virgin-- Most probably some European Country did not have the guts to put some guys in Jail. So now you have to buy the " Extra Virgin " and hope it is the first pressing. Maybe someone in California could tell us something about this fakery. -------------------- About the term " Cold Pressed " . Maybe you remember your High School Chemistry or Physics teacher demonstrating that pressing or compressing a substance causes it to get HOT! So a huge press that is pressing out Olive Oil a ton at a time is operated ever so slowly to keep everything cool? I do not know if this is belivable. With some other oil products if the press at a temperature below cooking it gets called cold! " Cold Pressed " may be just a lie, euphimism or Sales gimmik! Again maybe someone in CA. can answer this. ----------- Oil for cooking. You are about to be bombarded with a new hazard to health caused by frying food over 250 degrees. They are going after the fast food " Fries " for being cooked too hot and thus accumulating this new toxin. The unpronouncable Name starts with an " A " . So it will soon be out of style to fry at 400 degrees. Hint; It is possible to make baked Fries at home in the oven at a lower temperature. --------------------- Good Eating, Lorenzo --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free.
