Guest guest
Bob, You mentioned accupuncuture. Is that preferred over acupressure? Also, how do I find someone who is 'qualified?' Also, how do I find an excellent herbalist? I have a ton of allergies. (Not sure if I mentioned that I have very low estrogen too and can't tolerate progesterone). Does acupuncture help with panic attacks? Thanks, I am really lost and struggling to save my life, so it seems. Conventional medicine is not helping plus I can't tolerate a lot of meds. kristee Finance - Get real-time stock quotes
Guest guest
Hi Kristee, I'll do my best to answer your questions. Acupuncture is almost always prefered over acupressure. With the needles we are able to combine points to get certain outcomes and can retain needles for around 20 minutes to allow the system to balance. The NAET that someone mentioned is good for allergies and combines a western consept with acupuncture. You will often find an acupuncturist who will also be practicing NAET. Acupuncture is regulated by most states. You can find board certified practioners at www.nccaom.org I think. You should ask how long they went to school for chinese medicine and whether they use herbs as part of their practice. What you want to avoid are doctors or chiropractors who have had a 100 hr course in how to stick needles for pain vs. a board certified person who has studied for 3 or more years and covered diagnosis and lots of other stuff. What I always tell folks is find one that you like and has good success with you. there are lots of bad acupuncturists out there the same as there are some lousy doctors. If you don't like the first one try another. They are usually listed in the yellow pages under acupuncture. In general the needles themselves should not be painful like getting a shot, but some folks stimulate alot more than I personally think neccessary. So let your comfort be the judge. It can also help with panic attacks sometimes. There are some points on the ulnar side of the wrist and between the ulnar and radius that sometimes help (as well as others used to balance yourover all system.) there are also so excellent formulas that may help but it depends on your diagnosis since in chinese medicine there are a number of causes that might match your symptoms. hope this helps some. bob --- Kristee <aquakat_01 wrote: > > Bob, > You mentioned accupuncuture.
