As you have noticed, many sites differ on this subject. So....

apparently this subject has not been approached by scientists yet. If so,

the findings are not etched in stone, ..... yet.

The place I found that blueberries were acidifying, was in the book,

Alkalize or Die. Of course I was distressed to see this as I eat a lot of

blueberries.

I don't know who we would consider the final authority and were we can

get the best information. If you find it, please tell us about it.

Foods to avoid? That list is half wise, half idiotic. Barley is a food to

avoid? Why? Chickpeas? Cranberries? Foods cooked with oils? Which oils,

all oils? Nonsense. Legumes, Lentils? Ridiculous. Niacin???, is a " food "

to avoid? Niacin is a " vitamin " present in all foods. Oatmeal? Nuts!!!

Unbelievable! Nuts are among the best foods on earth, packed with excellent

oils, bursting with vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients. Popcorn, Plums!,

Prunes!, Rice? Brown rice is a wonderful food.

I went to an excellent natural-health practitioner, that would strongly

disagree with many of the " freely " eatable foods items: Dulse, honey (in any

amount), kelp, maple syrup, onions, apple cider vinegar, etc. This same

doctor would disagree with the idea that fruit should be eaten " freely. " He

allowed " 1 " serving of fruit, in the morning, balanced with lettuce, seeds

and veg. juice. I haven't followed some of that natural-doctors strict,

recommendations for foods to avoid, just as I won't follow many of the

recommended foods-to-avoid list posted here.

Like most such lists, compiled by people that are clumsy with research, and

form nutritional ideas out of fads and gossip, they do more harm than good.

Evening John,

You said just what I was thinking. And... saved me a lot of typing. <grin>

Thanks for the better view of things.

Actually, I eat all kinds of foods. I think the only bad ones are the

ones that have been

tapered with by man.
