Guest guest
Bananas are one of the highest glycemic fruits. They are useful only to the more vigorous athletes. Bananas present a problem to most of us because getting well involves reducing high-glycemic foods. As performance nutritionist Brad King says in his Fat Wars book, high and medium glycemic foods raise insulin levels. Insulin shuts down your growth hormone output for as much as several hours. Adequate levels of growth hormone (HGH) is essential to getting well; without it you don't repair even though your nutritional levels may be very good. In addition to this insult, insulin spikes reduce your metabolic rate and push the body into fat storage mode. To compond the problem, without the growth hormone levels you aren't even building muscle anymore, muscle is the best fat burner. So high glycemic foods are a no-no, even so-called whole wheat and complex carbs such as rice must be reduced as they also raise insulin levels. The key is to keep those levels down so you can heal and build rather than continue fill your fat cells. Much better advice can be found in the acclaimed Fat Wars book. Brad also names SomaLife gHP as one way to induce your natural HGH levels to climb, which will increase metabolic rate. Increasing your metabolism is a better way to achieve lasting energy levels. You CAN extricate yourself from the carbohydrate roller-coaster. I have many clinical studies on diabetes, FM, obesity, aging, and their relationship to LOW growth hormone levels people can write me for. You don't want to be further lowering your HGH. No, not at all. hope this helps Patricia " mrsjoguest " <jguest Flagging energy levels? Try bananas. Guest guest
I feel that JoAnn was alerting those of us with hbp and heart dis ease to eat the bananas, anyone who has diebetis would know that they should not eat bananas whilst those of us that it did relate too would not necessarily know that they would be good for us - I am very grateful that I have been given this information and will definitely up my intake of bananas because I trust JoAnn's knowledge implicitly. Guest guest
I respect your choice, but if you practice active growth hormone suppression you should be aware that comlications can arise. That's the method by which sumo wrestlers gain poundage. In the context of the gettingwell group, increased growth hormone is important to all phases of repair and getting well. Growth hormone is however reduced as insulin levels rise in response to high glycemic foods. Blood pressure and heart disease can be alleviated though practicing metabolic control, which involves keeping one's HGH levels up. In addition, amino acids particularly arginine will help rebuild the heert, and proline and lysine will rebuild the artery walls. We don't need the bananas when there are substitutes with much less compromise. Whatever. I recommend Brad King's book " Fat Wars " as the most acclaimed metabolic primer on the market today.
