Pancreatic enzymes & Cancer

Since Pancreatic Enzymes are a hugh part of my protocol, I would

like to correct the following statement about them in Protocol 1.

In #2 it says: " Enzymes are best taken on a full stomach. "

That is true if one wanted to use them merely as a digestive aid,

which is what they really are. It even say this on the bottles.

But we are not taking them to digest food. When taken on an empty

stomach pancreatic enzymes can strip the sheaths (made of fibrin

polyglucoprotein) from around cancer cells, rendering them more

vulnerable to attack by the white blood cells. They digests the

undigested protein in the blood first, then digests the protein coating

of cancer cells, so white blood cells can find and kill the cancer cells.

So for our purpose, pancreatic enzymes need to be taken on an

empty stomach.

Hopefully this will get corrected in Protocol 1.

Thanks and God Bless,

Hank Parker

I am confused. Unless you are talking about cancer cells

inside the digestive tract, how does eating enzymes help at all?

The enzyme molecules are all broken down before absorption into the

blood unless one as leaky gut syndrome, are they not?

---Alobar,

Although Enzymes are available as supplements, they are basically

found in fresh fruits/vegetables.

The article below helped to clarify the role enzymes play for me.

According to this, their role is very important.

A really informative piece.

" There isn't a cell in the body that functions without the help of

enzymes.

Enzymes are the magic ingredient that makes all of the other

ingredients

in the body work together.

It is estimated that enzymes are facilitating 36 million biochemical

reactions in the human body every minute. There are thousands,

perhaps

millions, of different enzymes at work, each with it's own

individual

assignment.

Without the appropriate enzyme to bind to, vitamins are just so much

organic matter, minerals are just so much inorganic matter, and

matter

itself is just another molecule.

Enzymes regulate all living matter, plants and animals alike.

Take away enzymes and you no longer have something that is living. "

This is serious, no doubt!!

But the enzymes can't get from the small intestine to the

blood stream, can they? Sure enzymes made by the body are all over,

but things we eat get broken down before they are moved from the

intestines to the blood stream, aren't they?

Re: Pancreatic enzymes & Cancer

Yes they can and they do. When we eat the food gets

broken down and releases enzymes. They then help build

the body and provide amino acids. Once used for a purpose

they are disposed of by the body. Some are stored for

the body to use later.

Do a search on Enzyme Therapy, I found good information

on this search. Also check out those little booklets

at the health food stores on Enzymes. They are very

understandable. I have one I like and I misplace it.

It is my understanding that the work of enzymes is done primarily

in the stomach and small intestines.

By the time nutrients reach the bloodstream, the process is well

under way.

It's vitally important that we give our bodies the right enzymes to

work with so fat can be broken down properly before it even reaches

the bloodsteam.

Fats that are not properly assimilated due to a lack of enzymes are

more prone to cause blockages, contributing to blood stickiness and

leading to thrombosis, not to mention those infamous muscle spasms

that contribute to so many heart attacks.

Some more information on Enzymes for you...

The enzymes that break down fat are especially important in

Western cultures that eat more fat than what the body needs.

Inadequate digestion of fat can cause stress in the entire

digestive system and contribute to chronic diseases over an extended

period of time.

Lipase and phospholipase break down fats in many stages and if we

aren't supplying enough enzymes in the upper portion of the stomach

(called the cardial region) and in the main portion of the stomach,

when it reaches the small intestines it puts a much bigger load on

the pancreas and gall bladder!

There are four basic types of digestive enzymes:

Amylase enzymes, found in the saliva, pancreas and intestines.

They aid in the breakdown of carbs.

Protease enzymes are found in the stomach and pancreas and

intestines.

They aid in the breakdown of proteins.

Lipase enzymes aid in the breakdown of fats.

Cellulase aids in breaking down cellulose.

Also,

there are various protein digesting enzymes:

Prolase and protease are extracted from papaya

Bromelain is derived from pineapple.

Pepsin splits protein into amino acids.

in supplements, pepsin is made from animal enzymes.

Trypsin and chymotrypsin, produced by the pancreas, break down

proteins.

Renin causes milk to coagulate, changing casein into a form the body

can use.

Pancreatin is derived from sections of animal pancreas and it tends

to function best in the small intestine.

Food Sources of Enzymes:

Avocadoes, bananas, mangoes, pineapples, sprouts and the aspergillus

plant.

Amylase enzymes that digest starches:

Amylase enzymes are found in the saliva, pancreas and intestines.

They aid in the breakdown of carbs.

Beta amylase is found in raw, unprocessed grains and vegetables. It

breaks down starches into sugar.

Protease enzymes are found in the stomach, pancreas and intestines.

Our vital enzymes can be depleted by toxins and pollutants, mental,

emotional, and physical stress, yo-yo dieting, drugs and alcohol

use, improper nutrition and allergies.

Although needed by the body in very small amounts, fluoride and

cadmium in large quantities destroys our enzymes.

So you can see, enzymes are vitally important in the whole scheme of

things.

I'd just like to add that enyzmes also need amino acids (cofactors)

to work properly.

Two of the most important digestive enzyme cofactors is magnesium

and zinc!

Magnesium alone is the essential cofactor (meaning it won't work

without magnesium present)

for at least 300 DIFFERENT enzymes!!

The enzymes that digest starches, fats and proteins won't work

properly without the B vitamins, thiamin, riboflavin, pantothenic

acid and biotin!

One study showed that taking a B vitamin supplement increased the

activity of one enzyme by 25 percent!!

Given the above information,

I can see how most of us are

sorely lacking in enzymes!

I think we really have to work at

getting them!!

But the enzymes can't get from the small intestine to the

blood stream, can they? Sure enzymes made by the body are all over,

but things we eat get broken down before they are moved from the

intestines to the blood stream, aren't they?

Elaine

In the accompanying PROTOCOL 1 Nutrition Plan, Hugh Parker advocates the use

of a juicer. Does he mean that the pulp is to be discarded and only the juice

is to be taken?

Thanks for the info JoAnn. I have not studied enzymatic

activity in a good long time. Good to have a refresher course.

But maybe I was not clear in my original post. Let me

requote the passage which got me scratching my head:

> > > >But we are not taking them to digest food. When taken

> > > >on an empty stomach pancreatic enzymes can strip the

> > > >sheaths (made of fibrin polyglucoprotein) from around

The original post talked about taking enzymes to digest

undigested protein in the blood & digesting sheaths of cancer cells.

Unless there is some mechanism I do not know about, enzymes from the

gut (whether manufactured by the body or taken as supplements) do not

pass from the gut into the blood unless they have been digested

first. Or, unless one has a leaky gut -- which is not a good thing.

So I just do not understand how one can take an enzyme supplement

which digests protein coating on cancer cells (unless those cells

are located in the gut) or protein floating loose in the blood

stream.

Alobar

PS

Do cancer cells actually have a sheath or coating different from

normal cells? I have not done much probing into cancer in my recent

researches. So I am rather clueless in this area.

---Alobar, I would question that information myself, since most of

the info I have researched on enzymes relate that they are active in

the stomach and small intestines. As you say... why would they enter

the bloodstream at all? Just wondering if someone sourced out that

info before they posted it.

As for cancer cells, although I'm not aware that they have any

coating...unless they are talking about cells perverted by radiation

and chemo. I have seen radiated cells and they certainly do have

hard coatings, it is horrible to view. To my knowledge, cancer is

abnormal cells, multiplying in an abnormal way (they create their

own little capillaries to feed on!).

There are articles linking *hydrogenated* fats to cancer cells, for

as we know, these fats change the permeability of the cell membrane

allowing multiple viruses and carcinogens (free radicals) to enter

at will. As anything hydrogenated is absolutely unnatural, it also

changes the body cells into unnatural perverted cells. This is the

basis for cancer formation. whether its skin cancer, prostate

cancer, breast cancer or ovarian cancer, they are extremely abnormal

cells, that cannot be disputed.

I firmly believe the hydrogenated fats ARE responsible for the

majority of cancerous growths! Our health is so vitally linked to

cellular health and when we realize that everything we eat affects

cellular health, the wise will adjust their diet accordingly.

Enzymes are SO important, we need them, and yes I do think that

when one gets a diet of over 85% fresh raw foods high in enzyme

content that even cancer can be eradicated!! I have read numerous

testimonies to that effect. Of course, chlorophyll (green barley

grasses) was taken also over the course of time in these cases. The

value of chlorophyll in fighting cancer is underestimated, in my

opinion. It is a potent anti-carcinogen and high in enzyme content!!
