Guest guest
Grrr, I can never get the archive search on this List group to work right. Go figure. Anyway folks, I need to suppliment the horses with magnesium. I just put them on " free feeding " (they can eat it whenever they choose to) a calcium supplement & they are eating through it like crazy. They say the horses shall slow down their intake when they know their bodies needs are being met. Also, that I could help their bodies meet the need easier/faster if I supplemented magnesium. I understand magnesium oxide is the preferred??? I can buy magnesium citrate bulk through herbalcom.com for $8.15 a pound. Would this still be acceptable? How much do you think I should increase the dose of citrate compared to oxide? No, they did not tell me how much magnesium I even need to feed the horses. *sigh* If it matters to you, figure each animal weighing 700-1,000 pounds. Right now I am crushing up mag. oxide tablets, but this is a ridiculous & expensive way to do it. Suggestions, hints? Please.
