Guest guest
Evening Alobar, > And (if you do not mind me asking) what does a >blood test cost? Honestly, I don't know. Seems part of the system is to keep us confused on everything. All I know is how much my Blue Cross costs each month. I have not even used the deductible for a number of years. This is $ 200.00 I think, after that, I pay 20%. So, I don't think Blue Cross should gripe about a few test that may save them tens of thousands, hopefully. My wife handles all the paperwork and bill paying, otherwise I would know more about the cost. There are dozens and even hundreds, and maybe thousands of different test. The hard part is to figure out what you want and then tell the people the proper names and terms. >> I look forward to anything you discover. Since I have been eating fried okra, blueberry pie, blackberry pie and even a bit of ice cream, my blood analysis may tell me things I don't want to know. > BTW, Wayne, any hints on how one can bypass doctors to get blood >testing done directly? It is a long story. We know this is a very unfair and evil world we live in. Often knowing the right person in the right place will solve many seemingly unsolvable problems. In this case, I think the good southern term to describe the situation is.... " going in the back door " . Our Yankee friends may have more descriptive terms. The main tests I want are the fatty acid profile and a mycoplasma test. Wayne

I had read somewhere (I forget where) that in some states one could get blood testing at a drugstore in a shopping center & pick up the results the same afternoon. I was hoping something like that was available locally & I just had not heard of it yet. Charity hosptal has decided I am not poor enough to get free service, so it looks like the only treatment I am gonna get from them is thru the emergency room. So I was looking for a low-cost alternative for keeping tabs on my long term glucose levels (Hb A1C). Alobar
Guest guest
I'm not sure what kind of " independence " you're seeking, but Life Extention Foundation (LEF) will do blood testing of all kinds, concerned with numerous testable conditions and measures of health and disease, by way of e-mail. - " Alobar " <alobar Thursday, June 13, 2002 6:33 PM Re: Flax seed question > > - > " Wayne Fugitt " <wayne > > Thursday, June 13, 2002 7:58 PM > Flax seed question > > > > > BTW, Wayne, any hints on how one can bypass doctors to get blood > > >testing done directly? > > > > It is a long story.
