Guest guest
Hi all, can anyone please tell me how much blackstrap molasses one should take on a daily basis. I know that it should be taken either in warm water or that you should drink 8oz of water immediately after to aid digestion (from an article that JoAnn posted) but are there any other ways of taking it. Thanks Marianne
Guest guest
Blackstrap is mainly carbohydrates. I'd not recommend it as a health food. Plenty of other ways to get minerals without adding sugar. Guest guest
Marianne, I take 1 Tablespoon of Blackstrap Molasses several times a week. I try to daily but sometimes forget....anyway, just 1 Tablespoon has around 500+/- mg of potassium, some calcium and iron. To me, it's an easy way to get the extra potassium that most of us lack (we should be getting 3000+ mg from food sources each day.....that's really hard to do unless you eat mostly natural/nutritious foods. Guest guest
Thanks Angie, I think we would all be hard pressed to get all that we need from food these days, anyway a little extra supplement can do nothing but good as far as I am concerned. I have finally got my sister to take a supplement so I really want the very best info for her. She is so anti supplements (being in the medical profession) and feels that she has a healthy diet and doesn't need them. This week I have managed to get her onto organic soy milk instead of that stuff which could contain GMO's and Blackstrap. Things are definitely looking up. Sorry for the additional info, I am so pleased that I am getting through to her, but thanks again for the info. marianne > Marianne, > I take 1 Tablespoon of Blackstrap Molasses several times a week.
