Hello all

My name is Lisa - just joined the group this week in hopes of improving my

health. I live in Dallas with a parrot and a German Shepherd. Been feeling

incredibly run down and tired lately. I think my lousy diet has finally caught

up with me. I did some reading on enzymes and bought a bottle last night to

take with meals. I also bought some spirulina since I read that also can

increase energy. Lastly, I've been taking a vitamin B complex. Any suggestions

on what can increase energy without speeding would be appreciated. OK, now for

my question. I've been wanting to do something by way of purified water.

Faucet mounted purifiers, I think, are more for taste and don't filter out

fluoride. Distillers remove EVERYTHING including minerals which I want. So my

criteria is a device that would filter out all the bad stuff but keep in the

good stuff, fairly inexpensive and doesn't require a professional to install.

Any suggestions? From the few days I've hovered in the shadows you seem like a

really knowledgeable group. I'm looking forward to learning from all of you.

Lisa

Question:

I've been using R.O. water for over a year now. I test it with a TDS

meter

and it's very pure. I used to add Concentrace Trace Mineral Drops

but stopped using it when I read that it contains fluoride. Does anyone

have

information on the subject? Thank you.

Does anyone have information on the subject? Thank you.

Hi Dave!

NOWfoods.com regarding Concentrace...NOW® Trace Minerals with

ConcenTrace® is concentrated from the Great Salt Lake in Utah. This

product is dehydrated with alfalfa to produce a full spectrum,

balanced trace mineral supplement. The sodium content has been

reduced by 99.5% I find that NOW foods recommends it, so as I

explicitly trust their expertise in these areas, I believe that it

is a completely safe naturally occuring type of fluoride which is

not harmful to your health!!

The information below comes directly from the NOW website:

Each capsule contains the following in naturally occuring trace

amounts:

Calcium, Carbonate, Bromide, Fluoride, Iodine, Rubidium, Scandium,

Phosphorus, Nickel, Manganese, Chromium, Strontium, Cobalt, Zinc,

Thank you JoAnn,

I'm doing extremely well. I was addicted to sleeping pills and a caffeine

addict.

Now I'm completely clean. The two most helpful things that led to this

were the

article on sleeping pills posted on this site:

http://www.darksideofsleepingpills.com/index.html

and the book:

Welcome To The Dance- A Caffeine Allergy and Progressive Toxic Dementia

has been very valuable for me because caffeine was causing a lot of

problems for me

including brain fog.

Kevin Trudeau's book- Natural Cures, What Doctors Don't Want You To Know

Has been very helpful for me also, I'm about a third of the way through.

I think he's

doing a lot of good.

Thank you again.

Thanks for sharing! It is good to hear from you again and to know that you're on

the way to a full recovery! I'm glad you're finding your answers!! There are

several liquid mineral chelates on the enzymatic therapy website which you

should be able to get from your health food store. Many of them carry the

Enzymatic Therapy brands and yours should be no exception.

Here is the link....

Well obviously, the link isn't working, so here is the list I copied for you.

I'm not sure whether you're vegetarian or not so I'm listing them all as I found

them on the website. Just remember that the majority of your minerals don't

necessarily have to be in your water. Source naturals has an excellent mineral

complex supplement in tablet form as well!

We get our distilled water in glass bottles from Mountain Valley Spring. We

had been using Ozarka with their plastic bottles and I always wondered just

how much plastic was leeching into the bottles as they sit in the hot Texas

sun on the delivery trucks and in the warehouses. I have been drinking

distilled water for over 5 years and wondered if I would be able to taste

the difference. Absolutely, I could taste the difference!! I was amazed.

I also add organic apple cider vinegar to each glass that I drink for the

added minerals and because organic apple cider vinegar has a lot of healing

properties.

While kinesiology can be a great tool it is not something that I would

totally rely on. Why? Because the person who is administering must be free

from any emotional situations or anything that could affect the outcome.

This is very difficult to do. Little things such as a bad night's rest,

argument in the morning, not feeling well, aches/pains, etc. can have an

affect on the outcome. This needs to be taken into account. Again, it can

be a good tool, but certainly not an end-all. Not even something that I

would rely heavily on.

DISTILLED WATER ENHANCES MINERAL ABSORPTION

DR. BILL MISNER, Ph.D.

DOES DISTILLED WATER LEACH MINERALS FROM OUR BODIES?

Absolutely, not...in fact just the opposite has been found to occur in

cellular research studies. It is a mistaken belief that drinking pure

distilled water reduces valuable minerals from living human tissues.

ORGANIC MINERALS VS. INORGANIC MINERALS

There are two types of minerals, organic and inorganic. Human physiology has

a biological affinity for organic minerals. Most organic minerals for our

body functions come from dietary plant foods. A growing plant converts the

inorganic minerals from the soils to a useful organic mineral. When an

organic mineral (from a plant food) enters the stomach it must attach itself

to a specific protein-molecule(chelation) in order to be absorbed, then it

gains access to the tissue sites where it is needed. Once a plant mineral is

divested within the body, it is utilized as a coenzyme for composing body

fluids, forming blood and bone cells, and the maintaining of healthy nerve

transmission.(Balch & Balch 1990)

Without a healthy organic mineral balance inside and outside the cells of

muscle, blood, and bone substructures, the body will began to spasm, twitch

and cramp, eventually deteriorating to a full " rigor complex " , and/or

complete failure.

INORGANIC MINERALS FROM TAPWATER ARE " BAD NEWS " .

Tap water presents a variety of inorganic minerals which our body has

difficulty absorbing. Their presence is suspect in a wide array of

degenerative diseases, such as hardening of the arteries, arthritis, kidney

stones, gall stones, glaucoma, cataracts, hearing loss, emphysema, diabetes,

and obesity. What minerals are available, especially in " hard " tap water,

are poorly absorbed, or rejected by cellular tissue sites, and, if not

evacuated, their presence may cause arterial obstruction, and internal

damage.(Dennison 1993, Muehling 1994, Banik 1989)

ORGANIC MINERALS ARE PREFERRED...

Is it any wonder why the body prefers the richest source of mineral

substrates from organic foods instead of the mineral-poor sources from tap

water? Even if the human tissue suddenly developed the ability to absorb

inorganic minerals from tap water, it would take an enormous amount of tap

water to supply the bare minimal mineral quantities for human life

functions. If(for example) the rich inorganic mineral content of the tap

water in Reno, Nevada were modified so that it would convert the daily

Calcium requirement(RDA) from its inorganic calcium solutes, one would have

to drink 7.4 gallons of their tap water!

HOW DISTILLED WATER ENHANCES MINERAL ABSORPTION RATES

Distilled Pure Water will not conduct electricity when only 2 parts

inorganic minerals or less are present. Water with 5 parts inorganic content

per million parts water(or more) will conduct electricity, completing a

simple circuit and lighting a tester bulb! The higher the inorganic content

is in a per million count, the less effectively water transmits organic

minerals to tissue sites. Bottled water, tap water, reverse-osmosis filtered

water, and carbon-block filtered water(when tested) will conduct

electricity, substantiating that each one is not the best carrier for the

mineral-transport and mineral-absorption(Muehling 1994). Our tap water in

the USA has been shown to contain 19 " inorganic metals of concern " (1994 Safe

Water Drinking Act), for which maximum contaminant levels have been

set.(Tone 1994) Most American tap water tested falls between the ranges of

350 parts per million to over 1000 parts per million total

contaminants!(Colgan 1993)

REPEAT THE QUESTION PLEASE...

Does drinking distilled water leach the minerals from the body? No, quite

the opposite...if inorganic minerals are " removed " from tap water, by

converting it into pure distilled water, the result is remarkable biological

mineral absorption for both health and maximal metabolic activity. The

application of this query has a remarkably high correlation to the general

properties of maximal absorption rates, for all micronutrients which

traverse the gastric chambers directly into the muscle cells for premium

performance demand.

Distilled Water versus Mineral, Carbon Filtered, and Reverse Osmosis Water

by Ron Kennedy, M.D., Santa Rosa, California

There is circulating a point of view about distilled water, undoubtedly

promulgated by producers and sellers of mineral water. This point of view is

that water should be mineralized in order to have health benefits and that

distilled water somehow leaches out minerals from the body.

To understand the truth about this matter one must know a little about

mineral chemistry in living systems. In order for a mineral to be of any use

to the body it must be presented in a form in which it can be used. That

form involves an association with an organic (carbon based) molecule. Carbon

based molecules are to be found in living systems, and are not found in the

ground which is where mineral water comes from. Water from the ground comes

with minerals alright, but these minerals are in salt form. When salt is

presented to the body (with rare exceptions such as sodium chloride) it must

be either stored or excreted. A good example is CaCO3 (calcium carbonate).

Carbonate is not a sufficiently complex organic molecule and therefore

cannot properly contribute its calcium to living systems. The calcium comes

out instead in ionic form (with a positive charge) and precipitates by

forming other salts. Common locations for precipitation of calcium are the

lens of the eye (cataracts), the kidneys (kidney stones) and the walls of

arteries (arteriosclerosis). Unbound minerals must be excreted, which is

extra work for the kidneys) or stored. This makes dust of the argument that

healthy water is mineralized, and dust is of course the source of minerals

in mineral water.

Incidentally, CaCO3 comes from lime stone and comprises the bulk of most

calcium supplements, including that in " calcium enriched orange juice. " If

you want cataracts, kidney stones, and arteriosclerosis, be sure to eat and

drink " calcium enriched " foods.

Now as to the argument that distilled water leaches out minerals. This is

true, and this is exactly what we want it to do. The minerals it leaches out

are of the unusable, ionic form and we want these to leave the body rather

than be deposited and cause disease. Distilled water does not leach out

significant amounts of biologically available minerals because these are

quickly taken up by the body on an as needed basis. If they are present in

excess then they are filtered through the kidneys and this is exactly what

needs to happen with all things which are in excess in the circulation.

Distilled water cleanses the body through promoting healthy kidney function.

Finally, if mineral water is not a good source of biologically available

minerals, then what is? Think about it. Minerals are present in the ground

and must be biologically bound in order to be used by the body. Where would

that come from? Plants, of course! Your mineral source should be plants not

water. The purpose of water is to cleanse the body. To do the best job of

that, it must be free of everything else. Only distilled water fits that

bill.

As to carbon filtered and reverse osmosis water, these are better solutions

than tap water or mineral water, however they still fall far short of the

standard set by distilled water.

Nature knows best and nature supplies distilled water in the form of rain.

However, rain water is no longer pure due to atmospheric pollution. The only

remaining option is for us to distill our own water. To that end, I have

found no equal of the WaterWise 9000 for up to five people in a home or

office.

If you would like to read more I recommend two books: The Truth About Water

and Your Body's many Cries For Water.

Although I would like to respond to this at great length, at the

moment I simply do not have the time to do so. I will say that my

friend the kinesiologist chooses her helpers very carefully and has

a number of people standing by in case someone doesn't qualify on

any particular day.

Kinesiology deals with the Endocrine system which in my estimation

is one of if not THE MOST IMPORTANT system in the body. She does not

utilize less reliable " dousing " methods, but totally relies on muscle

testing for the results. She was afflicted with an inoperable brain

tumor, given a death sentence by the medical profession. She cured

herself of this and numerous other diseases as well with her

knowledge of vitamins and herbs. Her knowledge of herbs and vitamins

blows my mind. We haven't even scratched the surface when it comes

to the efficacy of vitamins and herbs. She has studied this for

thirty years. I love to sit in her presence and just listen!! :-)

I always come away with new zeal and enthusisam to share with others

the joy of plants and their healing potential.

I wish you well in all your endeavors!

Oh, absolutely, I agree with you about the endocrine system. I deal largely

in hormonal balancing for women and men and I believe that this is the

system that we should always concentrate on balancing first when disease

presents itself. Problem is that so many things can affect it (toxic

emotions, toxic water, toxic environment, toxic personal care products,

toxic vitamins (yes, some have added excipients that are toxic), toxic food,

etc.))

It's great that your friend is prepared in having other people on-hand to

assist. Again, I would suggest that it should not be an end-all. I have

had many people decline to take a supplement that was badly needed because

of kinesiology and then later find out that was what was keeping them from

progressing toward better health.

I was also healed of stage 3 colon cancer 5 years ago using alternative

medicine. We used a myriad of modalities including hi-tech vitamins, herbs,

healings, etc. I now work with cancer nutritional balancing and realize the

importance of providing correct therapeutic dosaging of supplements and

herbs. Everyone is so different and what will work for one doesn't always

work for another. So finding the pieces to everyone's individual puzzle can

be a little difficult at times. :o)

We are definitely on the same page, JoAnn, and you have a lot of knowledge

to share. Keep up the great work.

RE: Re: Purified water

" I have had many people decline to take a supplement that was badly

needed because of kinesiology and then later find out that was what

was keeping them from progressing toward better health " .

There are kinesiolgists who use the all too common " dowsing "

methods and then again, there are others who wouldn't touch it. I am

betting that those whom you mentioned became prejudiced regarding a

particular supplement because they tested it with the pendant

(dowsing) method. Those who use it, rely on it religiously and

believe in it wholeheartedly. You cannot tell them otherwise! I know

that dowsing is not reliable. I have observed far too much to the

contrary.

In my past experience I've observed that there are even those who totally

believe that " margarine " is a

healthy spread simply because their pendants " relayed " to them that

it was healthy and right for them, which is the single most ludicrous example

I've ever heard!

I believe that these people are being deceived, however this is not

true of kinesiology as a whole. As I say, some of them use muscle

testing and this is much more reliable! My kinesiologist does not

rely on " Dowsing " methods nor advise that anyone else practise this

type of testing! It is geared to a certain religion, however I will not comment

on this any further, as I do not want to offend anyone on this list. Everyone

has a right to their own beliefs but when it comes to health I belive that

religion should be a totally separate entity.

Is this a type of bone cancer?? They carefully guard the secrets of

their profession so I wouldn't be able to get the exact vitamin and

herb profile, however I could give you a broad idea of the herbs that

are beneficial for cancer.
