I have to scratch my head over this. They don't say the technique

doesn't work. They say it should be done with the aid of a professional.

The very reason why someone would use this technique is that they are alone

with no professionals around! I think the professionals are just covering

their collective butts in case someone uses this technique & dies, the

relatives won't have anyone to sue. I do not expect to need CPR, but I

suspect very few people feel they will need it & some get proved wrong. I

do know that I have memorized this cough CPR technique on the off chance it

might save my life someday. Maybe it will work & maybe it won't -- but

what have I got to lose? If I do nothing, I am as good as dead. And I

have not heard of something better to do in case of heart attack -- so why

not give it a try if the need arises?.

I totally agree and will keep that cough cpr in the back of my mind for

anytime that I ever unfortunately need it, at least I will panic less if I

think that I have something that can help me whilst I am waiting for help to

arrive.
