Guest guest
I have been working on Omega 3 and Omega 6 balance for about 3 months. Of course I have been doing a few things in this respect for much longer. This includs eating nuts, seeds, (trailmix) and taking flax oil. During this time ( not just the 3 months ) I have been able to observe a few favorable changes. One of the biggest changes is the growing of all new toenails on the right foot ( this took about 1 year ). The thick dead looking toenails have disappeared on the right foot only. It is interesting that I have only one toenail on the left foot that has regrown and looks normal. Another change that may be the result of the addition of Omega 3 is the dark spots on my shins have broken up, are much smaller and look like they are trying to disappear. The Omega 3 items I have been using includes flax oil, borage oil, salmon oil, and coconut oil. All of this, in addition to sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds and nuts should have some effect. Now.... the real question, ......... What part of the blood analysis would indicate that my efforts have in fact accomplished anything more than the cosmetic effect mentioned above. I plan to go to the lab next week primarily for a mycoplasma test. Could anyone suggest other test that would give me some indication that the Omega 3 supplementation has worked. Also, Ron and others suggested that the soy products I have used within the last 3 years, may have done some damage that " I did not know about " . Of course I listen to the wisdom of the list, and this has concerned me. Maybe he was right. Are you listening Ron? Now.... how would I know? Another test, maybe? Which one? Some of you may think I am off my rocker. But blood study has been my interest for a long time. Recent articles I have read whetted my appetite even more to learn about the things that can be learned from the blood. I even purchased a microscope. Due to work and other interest, I am behind in my studies. If anyone knows a good book, even a college textbook, that would be suitable, I would appreciate knowing about it. Hi Wayne, You need to get a red blood cell phospholipid fatty acid analysis done. See: http://www.gsdl.com/assessments/fattyacids/ http://www.gsdl.com/assessments/fattyacids/appguide/ http://www.gsdl.com/assessments/fattyacids/faq/ http://www.gsdl.com/assessments/fattyacids/reports/ http://www.gsdl.com/images/reportpdf/emfa.pdf The above sample PDF report is very impressive and shows at a glance where you are on a fatty acid basis. ======================== Good health & long life, Greg Watson, http://optimalhealth.cia.com.au
Guest guest
Evening Greg, >You need to get a red blood cell phospholipid fatty acid analysis done. See: Thanks a million for the information. I will study all the links and see if I can get the test locally or have to use an out of town lab. ><http://www.gsdl.com/assessments/fattyacids/>http://www.gsdl.com/assessments/fa\ ttyacids/ >http://www.gsdl.com/assessments/fattyacids/appguide/ ><http://www.gsdl.com/assessments/fattyacids/faq/>http://www.gsdl.com/assessment\ s/fattyacids/faq/ >http://www.gsdl.com/assessments/fattyacids/reports/ ><http://www.gsdl.com/images/reportpdf/emfa.pdf>http://www.gsdl.com/images/repor\ tpdf/emfa.pdf Wayne
