Guest guest
hello, yesterday I found a wonderful Chinese food market with row after row of products I had never seen before. Anyway afterwards I showed the Chinese woman there a picture and Chinese symbols for the wolfberry and instantly she when to where they were and handed me a package. The package contains red shriveled berries fitting the discription of the picture posted and size mentioned for the berry. The english on the package only says " Dried Chinese Berry. " There are 4 Chinese symbols on the front and the last one is the only one that matches the symbol given, namely the " qi " but the lady was sure this was the same product and it looks the same. I said all that just to confirm somewhat that I actually have the right product because on the back it gives this warning: " Under California Proposition 65: Warning, This product contains chemical(s) known to the State of California to cause cancer, or birth defects or other reproductive harm. " I searched the package for a clue as to any other possible additives or ingredients and couldn't find any. Geese, what do you think that means? joseph in NC PS: This product is distributed by Walong Marketing, Inc; Buena Park, CA 90620

Guest guest
Hi! There are some T.C.M. websites which allow people to ask questions, & get a professional response. Why not do a search, and get a professional Chinese Herbal Specialist to address your inquiry? Alternatively, seeing a doctor of TCM is a possibility. A guy I worked with for a few years uses these berries in his own tea, and he's trained as an M.D. & DTCM. Now, I've seen maybe 5-6 berries in his tea cup (with other herbs). Dose can determine benefits or potential for harm in any medicine. How many berries does one need to consume to cause cancer or reproductive harm, and is it likely one might eat that many? I'm reminded of the dangers of vitamine A, where no one is likely to take the amount needed for poisoning. Good luck!
