Guest guest
I can't remember but wasn't there something about taking your vitamin C supplements either when eating or on an empty stomach. Does anybody know what I'm talking about? Are there any other vitamins that should be used either with or without food? Also is morning or before bed a better time to take supplements? thanks, joseph in NC
Guest guest
Hi Joseph, You should take vit c with meals because vit c works best with bioflavanoids and vit e. Usually if you take it with food you are likely to be eating bioflavanoids and vit e. It's the same reason a lot of folks say to take vit c with a glass of orange or grape juice for example, because these are both chock full of bioflavanoids. In general vitamins should be taken with food and herbs taken alone. It's because you never eat a food that just contains one vitamin without any other compound in nature, while herbs are a whole compound within themselves. I would say anytime except 2 hours or so before bedtime is a general guideline for taking supplements. And if you are taking the vitamins with food this makes sense. You want your body to focus on resting and rebuilding instead of digesting while you sleep.
