Morning Greg,

In virtually all of the bad press I have seen about Soy, there is always

mention of....

 

" A Lot of Soy " or using Soy to replace milk and meat, or using it as the

main protein source.

 

Heaven forbid ! If a fool tries to do all that with one food, he

certainly disserves all the good and evil that shall prevail.

 

Most level headed people will use soy as they use other foods, to

complement and enhance all the other foods we eat.

 

Over the years I have used soy products not to replace anything, instead of

anything, and have not used " lots of soy " , or " excessive soy " . To my

knowledge, I have seen no problems from the soy.

We are really belaboring this subject aren't we?

But your post begs the question : When you say " To my

knowledge, I have seen no problems from the soy. "

Do you mean that you have no problems or just no problems that you can

directly attribute to soy?

It did sound better than if I said...... " I have no problems from the

soy " . <grin> I left a loophole if I needed one.

I could say, Yes to both. But first, I am not one who has been in the

class that the soy caused problems. I don't use a lot of soy, I don't use

it to replace animal protein, and I don't use it to replace milk.

 

Presently, I only use soy two ways. One is a protein powder. But the

volume of it used is about 1/3 the volume of my other protein powder used

in each drink. The other one is the dry roasted soy nuts that I add to

trail mix.

 

I am not that addicted to soy. I could leave it off altogether.

 

Another factor that enters into some of the studies, is very likely the

studies did not have a number of healthy people to do the test.

 

Back to any problems that could be caused by soy, ..... I don't have any

major problems that I can contribute to anything except age, and lack of

exercise. Not much I can do about the age, but I can do a little something

about the exercise.

 

Now that I have coconut oil, flax oil, salmon oil, borage oil, and ground

flax seed,

surely a tiny amount of soy will not do me in. MY mind is not made up. As

more and more evidence surfaces, I may drop all my soy products.

Hi Wayne,

 

Yup...........

 

Eat a very wide variety of foods but not a lot of any one kind.

 

That said, I still have some reservations about soy for babes as sex hormone

balances may be important.
