Kevin and Debra;

Kevin, It is far too complex to site possible causes for individual

cases of ADD. Anything from a rocky childhood to food allergies.

Nobody is qualified to pinpoint the causes--fully. And doctors are

expected to stop symptoms, so yes, they are putting a bandaid on a

gaping wound. Nutrition helps, but stress could be the culprit, as are

many other causes.

Hi Kathy,

Oh, I certainly agree with you about the complexity of ADD. You bring up a

great point, and I didn't mean that the natural suggestions would help every

kid every time. My point was just that I would certainly try lots of

options (which I consider to be very simple) before I would resort to drugs.

And that I would like to see schools begin to educate the parents in

possible causes for ADD, as well as the possible solutions. Also, I

understand what you are saying about the doctors putting the bandaid on --

and all I have to say is yuck! Glad that's not my job, LOL!

Hi Deb, I understood what u meant:=)

My son has ADD, so I piped in.

Shame that teachers have so much to deal with. It is quite delicate to

talk with parents about this horrible situation. Could be sugar, could

be brain chemicals, could be abuse at home. Could be all the above.

EEK!

Well....Back to lurkdom..
