Guest guest
Do you work for the SOY INDUSTRY? or how about Canola oil industry or maybe just for the government? You seem to only give people just ONE side of research never the whole scoop, it is always to do with Soy or Canola, which in my humble opinion are both extremely bad for us. Giving only one side is exactly what the industry debunkers do, and government, I suppose you are for mercury in vaccines too. No need to answer just wandering. Hi Elaine, I'm a Naturopath and work for myself. The soy papers I referenced did talk about the side negative side effects of soy and canola is something I would not touch due to it's rich double bond fatty acids, let alone the way it is processed. I my opinion, for my wife of 30 years and myself (54 & 55) the phytoestrogens / isoflavones in soy are beneficial and far outweigh any negatives and as we eat iodine rich sea fish, the thyroid issue is a non issue, just like it is for the Asians. We do not eat a lot of soy (3 x 100 g (3 oz) serves a week on our non fish / chicken days) and that we do eat is mostly tofu which we buy fresh in a local Asian market. Would I recommend soy to children or folks under 50? Probably not unless there was a clear benefit. ======================== Good health & long life, Greg Watson, http://optimalhealth.cia.com.au
Guest guest
Why the attempted character assasination, Elaine? I have read what Greg has posted & he does point out the downside of using too much soy (iodine problem) unless one eats fish. He mentions the problem with children & infant soy formula. I would say that Greg is enthusiastic about soy, but he also points to research which is critical as well. You then try to put words in Greg's mouth about Mercury in vaccines, etc. You appear very upset at Greg. But why not stick to the topic at hand? Character assasination does not make you look very good. And if someone is joining this discussion late, or has not bothered to read thoroughly, your words may mislead them into thinking Greg does support the things you accuse him of. And that is just plain slander. In any case, there have been others on this list (I shall not name names) who enthusiastically promote things which seem rather odd to me, and nobody implies they are working for a particular industry. They share what they are enthusiastic about. If I have a different opinion, I can then ask questions or post my beliefs. There is no one true path to diet & perfect health -- or if there is, I sure have not discovered it yet. The purpose of this list (IMO) is for us to share what we feel excited about. There is no politically correct line here, is there? Guest guest
Hello, I sure hope that sums things up (-: (-: The truth only lies in the believer in whatever facts they believe to be true.
