Hi,

I spoke with my acupuncturist and she says you can get the berries in

Chinatown. She actually gets them through the acupuncture school here, b/c

she knows they will be hign quality, which I guess is of some question when

foods are imported from China. She also says that these berries are not for

everyone, and that they should only be eaten under supervision of an

acupuncturist. They are warming/nourishing/tonifying and are NOT OK for

excess or hot folks; so if you are interested in these berries, you really

need to know if you have heat signs or excess. A good place to go to find

this out (this is from me, not the acupuncturist!) is Paul Pitchford's

Healing with Whole Foods.

I really don't think such an attitude is necessary when I am just trying to

be helpful. Of course do what you want, Morton. I just felt I was being

responsible by passing along the information that a licensed acupuncturist

would want you to have before consuming these berries. If you have heat

signs and take these berries and have a negative result, wouldn't I have

felt terrible not informing you ahead of time?

Only under the supervision of an acupuncturist, you say! Really. And should I

have a seance with my acupuncturist before I plan my next visit to the local art

museum? Or my visit to the proctologist?
