Victims demand 'open' inquiries into disgraced doctors

 

> Women victims of two disgraced doctors are joining forces to demand full

public inquiries into the medics' activities.

> They are bringing High Court challenges against Health Secretary Alan

Milburn's decisions not to allow the press and public to attend formal

inquiries into how Dr Clifford Ayling, a GP, and surgeon Richard Neale were

able to go on practising for as long as they did.

> Their lawyers argue that Government refusals to throw the proposed

hearings open to the full public gaze are both " irrational " and in breach of

human rights laws.
