Reasons NOT to Give Blood

I'm planning on giving blood on Friday and am wondering if anyone has

any reasons why giving blood can be harmful for your body assuming

your are otherwise healthy.

The most I could come up with was someone complaining that they stuck

the needle in too far and hit an artery and his arm didn't heal after

3 weeks.

Thanks!

Michael

There is a slight chance the needle or lancet (for the pre-donation

test) is not sterile and you get something nasty. I do know someone

this happened to.

If you have too few red blood cells or too little iron you could get

anemic.

If Al-Qaida blows up the white house your pint might be the one that

save's Dubya's life.

None very good reasons.

On a prayer group Im on, someone's aunt died from bad blood. She was getting

a transplant for her kidneys or some other organ years back, survived the

surgery, but was given contaminated blood that killed her. Something along

those lines anyway....it happened years ago and was told to me recently from

a woman who just lost her uncle, and she was telling me how now him and her

aunt would be together again....maybe it was contaminated kidneys, but I

don't think so...pretty sure something was wrong with the blood. Anyway,

finished with the rambling....for now....mhahahaha!
