Guest guest
I have been hearing lots of good things about ginger for a while now, but had resisted because I have never liked the flavor of ginger. Well, the other week I bought some ginger & vowed to put some in my morning fruit smoothie each day until I finish up one root. Day one the ginger tasted awful! Foulest yuck I have had in a long time. I used a piece about as big is the tip joint on my pinky. Day 2 I cut back the ginger to about 25% of day one. Taste was not great, but manageable. From day 3 until now (about day 10) I have slowly been increasing my ginger intake. I am getting used to the taste. Not what I would call yummy, but certainly no longer foul. One strange side effect. When I started using ginger I started getting the foulest smelling gas. People would gasp 20 feet away outside even when they could not hear me breaking wind. I assumed this was some sort of intestinal detox & not harmful (except fainting for people too close to me). After about 5 days, the gasses started to abate. Less gas & far less evil smelling. Gasses not completely gone after 10 days, but nearly so. Now for a question. How much ginger is good to take on a daily basis? I am now using a piece about as big as my first joint on my thumb (I have big hands). Is there a problem if I use too much? Alobar
