Guest guest
Evening Jean, A number of days back, you shared you the recipe for peanut butter, coconut oil, and honey. >Mix with honey and/or peanut butter, maybe 1:1 at first, then gradually more. It was a week or so after that before I got my coconut oil. These appeared to be the simplest and easiest way to get started. I keep peanut butter, the good kind, with nothing but peanut oil and salt. The problem is, I may be eating too much of this stuff. The first week, I ate over a pound of peanut butter and 1 pint of coconut oil. Now I have been doing this for about 9 days. From the volume used, I must be getting about two ounces of coconut oil per day, and maybe 2.5 or 3.0 ounces of peanut butter. I use as little honey as possible. When mixing the last batch, I used some Canadian maple syrup along with the honey. Today I had my sleeves rolled up in bright sunlight. I was surprised to see white scaly effect on both forearms. I have never had dry or scaly skin. Normally it is oily and shiny. This appearance is in fact dead cells. When the skin is rubbed, it flakes off. This effect is on the back of the left hand, but not the right hand. I don't remember getting into any chemicals or toxic substances. Possibly I better stop the peanut butter and coconut oil for a few days. At any rate..... something strange is happening. Wayne

Hi Wayne, Pean butter is about 15 % Omega 6 LA, so for 3 oz (~ 100 g) you are getting about 15 g of Omega 6 LA. This is WAY over the limit of 7 g and will adversely effect your cell membrane ratio of Omega 3 / 6, especially if you are not getting the Omega 3 LNA, EPA and DHA. Skin problems are one sign of Omega 6 excess. ======================== Good Health & Long Life, Greg Watson, http://optimalhealth.cia.com.au gowatson USDA database (food breakdown) http://www.nal.usda.gov/fnic/foodcomp/ PubMed (research papers) http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi DWIDP (nutrient analysis) http://www.walford.com/dwdemo/dw2b63demo.exe Patch file for above http://www.walford.com/download/dwidp67u.exe KIM (omega analysis) http://ods.od.nih.gov/eicosanoids/KIM_Install.exe
