Guest guest
<< Carnivores like cats normally eat small herbivores like mice or small birds with veggies & grains inside their guts. I suspect they need some greens & veggies.>> The amount of grains and veggies in a small animals(mouse, bird) stomach is infinitesimal plus its in the digest phase or already digested. There might be some tiny nutrient value there. Every part of prey has some nutrient value to a cat; bones, organs, eyes, fur/feathers for fiber, muscle meat, etc. << I know I have had cats go wild on wheat grass.>> Cats love wheat grass and I would encourage inside only cat owners or any cat owner to " grow your own " . Its easy and inexpensive, I do it every spring/summer. Do a net search, you can buy wheat grass seed by the pound. You can find it in spec. pet shops but it comes in 2 oz packages and is very expensive. Also, one should NEVER use regular grass seed as its loaded with pesticides and after DNA splicing and dicing to fight bugs, drought, poor soil, etc., I doubt it has much " decent " nutrients.
