I do recall seeing salt free or low salt tuna in the HFS. The cost was very high. It is an ongoing adjustment to pay the price for quality food. Guest guest
Is there a huge difference in the quality of the light meat vs. white meat tuna? I usually buy the Miramonte brand and it contains tongol tuna, water and salt (or salt-free). It's available at my local HFS and costs about a buck (and according to the can it was caught " dolphin-safe " which is hopefully true...). :-) Gabriela

As I don't buy these brands and haven't for years and years, I couldn't tell you, sorry! It tastes good to me, though, especially the salted version... :-) G

I believe it is the law that only " dolphin-safe " tuna can be sold in the USA, however what exactly the standard is for this law I don't know... It is my understanding that tongol tuna (longfin tuna) is just another kind of tuna like yellowfin, albacore or others... Maybe they are area-specific? :-) Gabriela
