Guest guest
I go the local outdoor farmers market 3 to 4 days of the week. There is one in each part of our town everyday. I am so lucky to live in the Santa Barbara area of California...but we aren't the only ones to have these are we? It is completely locally grown and without pestisides and naturally fertilized. You don't know what they've been fertilized and pesticized with, or how genetically altered they might be. I've gone in for sprouting. Mung beans are cheap and plentiful, as are most beans. You can grow a lush container of sprouts using only water from pennies worth of mung beans in about a week. They are highly nutritious. bluegreensolutions@ Thu, 31 Jul 2008 13:01:28 +0000[Health_and_ Healing] Re: vitamin companies This is scary - for those people who take multi-vitamins, or any kindof vitamin pill for that matter. What's coming from China? I'm surenobody knows. Guest guest
Yes, I love the farmer's markets, too. It's great to meet the folks that grow the food and chat with them. There's also a growing movement towards community co-op gardens. This is not only healthy, it's a whole lot cheaper way to get your fresh produce. I have some info on starting one, for those who ask me for it.I live on a farm so I can grow a lot of my own produce. But I still swap out stuff that grows well here with others who are growing stuff I don't.
