Guest guest
Then I found out who Doc really is... When I first met Doc last year at the Huna World Convention Pre-Intensive last year, I saw and experienced some of what Doc can do. I compared what he does to the level of experience I had, and you know what? THERE WAS NO COMPARISON! There was no way I could ever compete with all those skills he has. Thoughtforms? What are those? Inner Demon Destroyer? That won't work for me. I don't have the 30+ yrs experience he has, I don't have the time nor the money he has to learn and do all this stuff. I wish I could have all those skills he has right now, then I could do all the stuff I want to do. But I can't because I only make X amount of money, I only have Y amount of time because of blab, blab, blab. How depressing! So I'll just compare myself to some of those other people. Like that guy who can't tie his own shoes without first breaking out the instruction manual. Yeah, there we go. That feels much better. Unfortunately, as I quickly realized, comparing yourself 'down the scale' might be real good for inflating your ego so you feel real good without really doing anything meaningful... but for real and valid improvement, it might be more useful to look 'up the scale' at those who have achieved, using those who have gone before you as a model. And using Doc as model... Where the HELL do I start? I remember when I was just a little kid, maybe 4 or 5 years old and my Dad brought me and my brother fishing. Actually, my Dad was fishing while me and my brother just played around the shore, close by so he could keep his eye on us (and he did need to). I remember I used to like going into the water just enough to get close to all those little schools of tiny fish swimming. Sometimes I even tried to catch them, by hand. Often times they would split off and head in different directions. I'd see one that was sorta close, so I would go to catch it, but a different one would swim closer so I went for that one. I'd follow that one along until that other one crossed by, so then I would try to get that one. I never did catch one of those little fish... Not until I got a little bit older anyway. You see, by this time I realized that my success got much better if I picked one of those little fish that was within my reach to begin with. Next I learned that I had to put focus on that one fish, all those other ones meant very little at that moment. Those other fish will still be there later. The first step is to first get that one fish. So what does this have to do with my training's with Doc? Well, when I compared everything I found out Doc can do to what I can't do, my success didn't improve a whole lot. It did nothing for bringing my confidence up. It's like when I rented that car for this last training and the nice lady gave me a map. She didn't give me a map of the whole United States. She didn't even give me a map of Oregon. Just a map of Medford. She told me where the starting point was, where I was at so I could reference from that point that to go and to come back, even though I already knew all that. I already knew where I was on the map. The problem I had was that in looking at myself and where I was at, then comparing myself to Doc, was that I used the map INCORRECTLY! I was looking at ALL of Doc's knowledge and experience from only the 'big picture' viewpoint. I saw Doc's skills as the whole damn map of the United States of America. Yes, it is nice to see the big picture, and it is just as nice to focus on a specific destination while keeping the bigger picture in mind. Within the first hour of the training on Friday night, I had a " beagle " . I noticed something very important. A secret so obvious that I didn't really notice it before. A secret so deep, I do wonder how many people really know how obvious it really is? I'm really starting to wonder if I should even reveal that secret, that secret that took me almost a year to finally figure out. A secret that cost me, out of my own pocket, at least $10,000 of hard earned cash. A secret that I haven't seen in the back posts . A secret that Doc doesn't really talk about on his DVD's. A secret I have never heard ANY trainer on the planet talk about. You know, I'm not sure I should even give this secret away. Why? Because what right do I have to make this secret public, free of charge for you when only a few select people where allowed that opportunity to learn it... for not only the price of the seminar, but the cost of the motel, the car rental, the gas, the food, etc. I really don't think that would be fair to all those people, now would it? I guess that means you are plum out of luck then, huh? Well, hold on a minute... After a quick break and some careful consideration, I just might decide to give it ALL away. For FREE. After thinking about all the good times we all had in Medford with Doc and his family, some of that spilled over into my 'normal' life. Funny how things like that happen, isn't it? How this one tiny event, insignificant to the rest of the world, can produce profound and lasting change to your life and the lives of those around you. I am amazed at how many people have no clue as to what really goes on to those who take just one extra step... What was that old Chinese proverb? A ten thousand mile journey begins with one single step. Well, I can't take the step for you, but I can give you a hint to how you can get there. You will have to take your own action, take that knowledge and get experience. It's that experience that truly makes things great How many times has Doc said... Do the damn drills and get the skills!!! So how do I get there? That tiny little hint, that one little secret is standing before you. Waiting for you to act on it. If there is one thing that I noticed about Doc at this seminar is that he is no Superman. Doc wasn't born with all these secret skills. He wasn't raised in a hidden monastery deep in the mountains of Tibet. So who is Doc? Does he have secrets? Yes Are some of the things he does mysterious? Covert? Sometimes even nearly unbelievable? Yes. Are they verifiable? Yes, yes, and yes. Who is Doc other than a man who chose to choose his own destination and took those steps necessary to get where he is? Who is he other than a man who took tools he had to take control of his life, his future, and along the way gained bigger, better, more tools and other more useful tools? The most important thing that I realized about Doc, wasn't so much about Doc as it was about me. I realized that where Doc is today is because of the many steps he took through the years to get where he is today. I realized that it wasn't being fair, nor was it productive for me to compare myself so dramatically to where Doc is today, but instead look at what useful tools and skills got him to this point... and how I can use the tools I have now in order to go where I want to go. Doc is no Superman, born with supernatural abilities. Doc is a man who took the necessary steps to get where he is today. It's those steps he took that made him into a Superman. Thank You Doc, Gary Graves P.S. This was a really fun post to write. Some of you might notice I didn't give you the secret about Doc. Even though I did. And some of you might wonder why I didn't post about some of the really neat things I learned in Medford with Doc. Even though I did. In fact, there is a LOT more there than I ever intended to write... maybe even too much. P.S.S. A special THANKS goes out to Jack and to Lynn. Two great people who, from mostly behind the scenes, helped make this seminar truly memorable. (And it's on DVD). Fun times from beginning to end. How great was that barbecue?
