[herbal remedies] Greetings!

Hello everyone...Just wanted to introduce myself...I just joined this group today.I'm Mic from Sarasota, FL. Have been into herbs and natural healing for quite a while and am wanting to have a group of people to interact with who are into natural healing and allowing the body to heal itself without the use of conventional medicine.Normally I'm actually pretty healthy, but currently dealing with tending to a cyst which has become infected and turned into a boil. As I type this, I have a cabbage poultice on the cyst to pull out the toxins. If anyone has any input, I'd love to hear it.Organic gardening (including herbs and veges), music (am a piano teacher and singer for my living), vegetarianism, reading, and being out in nature (backpacking, hiking, kayaking) are a few of my interests. Hope to get to know everyone and learn from you!Hugs,MicFederal Law requires that we warn you of the following: 1. Natural methods can sometimes backfire. 2. If you are pregnant, consult your physician before using any natural remedy. 3. The Constitution guarantees you the right to be your own physician and toprescribe for your own health. Tea tree oil works great on these! Apply it straight a few times a day. Also bathing in epsom salts is really good too.

It is possible, but would be better to drain the garbage out, as you well know :-) Have you been using hot and cold compresses?

[herbal remedies] Re: Greetings!

Thanks for the welcome Janet!I've been putting tea tree oil directly on it about three times a day. This poultice that I use (green clay, apple cider vinegar, minced garlic, tea tree oil, lavender oil, and tumeric) also uses the tea tree. It looks like it may be getting better but I don't think it is going to break open. Ever heard of them redissolving back into the body? Thanks for the advice...HugsMicherbal remedies , "Dragonhealer" <dragonhealing@c...> wrote:> Welcome to the list Mic.> > Tea tree is really good for boils and hot and cold therapy.> > JanetFederal Law requires that we warn you of the following: 1. Kitty, Where do you live? A lot of herbalists and alternative healers live in the middle of nowhere :) To see if any AHG herbalist live near you go to the American Herbalist Guild website and look in your state/area. I have found in my training that books are OK but classes are better and an apprentiaceship with a herbalist to be best. Soem cooraspondance courses are OK, Jennie rose has a good one, and Rosemary Gladstar also has a good one. Write me if you have any questions! My dream is to educate people on the proper use of herbs and herbal products, perhaps use other methods of healing as well (I'm actually fairly well-practiced at absent

and energy healing already) to help those who have chosen a holistic approach to their health. However, I live in the middle of nowhere (great for wildcrafting, but not for educational purposes) so I'm looking at being a self-taught herbalist. Therefore I'm looking to increase my working knowledge of herbs, perhaps meet those who are also interested in herbs, plant lore, or any other related subject (that's why I joined this group ^_^), and hopefully find help in steering me in the right direction as far as my education goes.*Currently, I'm studying plant anatomy on my own. Interesting stuff. So feel free to mail me at asseyllus @ hotmail.com (that's my main e-mail addy) if any of the previous info prompts a reaction. I'm sure most will find me fairly agreeable. ^_^- Kitty

No, I got my kit together to apply then decided to move cross country, but as soon as I unpack it :) I will send it out. I am a regular member of the organization though, and have studied under Rosemary Gladstar, Susan Weed, Candis Cantin, Phillis Light, Mathew Woods and a few Native American herbalists no one has probally heard of :) Herbal Blessings, DawnBonnie Rogers <bonnierogers wrote: Dawn, are you a professional member of the AHG? Malissa,

The AHG stands for American Herbalists Guild. It is a professional organization of herbalists. You can become a member and you get a great magazine for that with great articles. They also have a professional membership, so you may see herbalists that put the AHG at the back of their name. This means they have applied for professional membership and have been accepted.

*sigh* You know, I was just at their site and didn't even THINK to

look? Thank you for pointing that out to me though; I would have

thought of it, but far more... eventually. lol

I am going to be taking aromatherapy classes come April in Jackson,

WY. I know there are plenty of herbalists here; I've even met a few.

But I really haven't met someone with the same view of the whole

thing yet, not that I'd pass up the opportunity to learn if asked!

^_^ There are a few shops specializing in herbal/naturopathic

products and services here, so I'm hoping some charm and networking

will hook me up with some opportunity. ^_~

Best wishes on the application by the way.

Hello everyone,

I am new to the list. I live in Czech Republic and have been studying TCM for 3

years. As TCM is " just " my hobby the progress is rather slow.

I'm still trying to understand the basic principles. my only practical

experience are experiments on myself (nutrition, accupressure, moxibustion).

I hope this list will help me understand TCM better by providing some real life

examples, experiences and answers to my questions.

Regards,

Martin
