Ac., _________ Hi Benjamin, I had never heard of this Morton before so I looked it up at: http://www.podiatrychannel.com/mortonneuroma/ -great explanation. My approach to any symptom is to understand the underlying energetic dynamics that may lead to the symptom, as often the cause may appear to have nothing to do with where it is manifesting. If you are interested, if you send me the D.O.B of your patient off line I can tell you where wether you are close to the goal post or not.If you want a more comprehensive list of suggestions that may be of benefit to the group as a learning aid then go to my web site http://www.meridian-qi-acupuncture.com/1form.htm download the form and fill it as this will form the basis of the info that I would require to make some sense of what might be going on with your patient. Your patient may be under some sort of on going low level stress that is out of her awareness. I very much doubt that symptoms manifest without an underlying cause. Millions of women wear tight shoes but not every one of them has morton's neuroma. And as you point out The manifestation of the symptom 3 years after a hysterectomy is suspect. salvador
Guest guest
I have some notes on morton's neuroma from whitfield reeves, who's up the road from you in boulder, co. Morton's neuroma - second toe is longer than the first. The patient is prone to excessive pronation and shin splints and a nerve tumor develops. Pain is worse with movement, none at rest. Difficult to find the painful point. Treatment: The best way to treat is to needle into the lesion. Needling on both sides is not as effective. It is usually on the dorsal side, but sometimes on plantar side. All cases he has seen have Excessive LR - so also add LR3, GB34. Homeopathics: brionia, hypericum, or the topical formula. --brian Chinese Medicine , " Benjamin Hawes " <ben_laura@n...> wrote: > I have a suspected morton's neuroma pt., with the neuroma b/t the 1st & 2nd > metatarsals instead of the 3rd & 4th, just distal to Liv. 3. Guest guest
Try treating opposite hand LI 3, 4 or the points known as Ling Gu Da Bai , add Pericardium 8 same side with strong stimulation, all locations confirm with ashi palpation. For seasonal treatment use LI 2,3,4 opposite hand . Give 2-3 treatments a week with strong stimulation. Re-evaluate after6-9 treatments. Guest guest
Rebecca Had some recent success with MN. A patient who had had bunionectomy - developed a MN after the surgery. Underwent PT and Chiro almost 100 Tx in all - Then came to me, highly frustrated and impatient Tx was fairly aggressive, but the real key was addressing the Spleen Damp constitution. Losing dairy and cold raw foods from the diet - also reducing simple sugars. AcuTx - Locate the core to the MN - from both top and underside of the foot needle directly to the neuroma - started with 0.25mm gauge and increased with progressive treatments. Estim - used continuous setting - milliamps at 15mHz - for 20 mins Bafeng pts Constitutional Sp 9, St 40 Direct Moxa Sp 3 Post estim - Needle moxa, followed by aggressive tuina. The patient was an A1 personality type who pushed for the most aggressive treatments possible. 3 treatments first week then 3 more over the next 2 weeks. Patient is back walking 5 miles per day and playing tennis 3x per week. Neuroma is " 85% " better! Good luck Kayte Chinese Medicine , " briansbeard " <brian_s_beard@h...> wrote: > > Rebecca, > > There's some discussion in the archives about this you can find. > > Chinese Medicine , " rebeccarmt " > <rebeccarmt> wrote: > > > > > > Hi all - > > > > Any thoughts on treating morton's neuroma? > > > > thanks - > > Rebecca

Guest guest
Hi Search " morton's neuroma " at acupuncture.com. there should be an article there by a Boulder, Co., practitioner who is happy to talk by phone about his success. I talked to him, found him very helpful, used his protocol and patient is painfree. Shanna acupuncture , " revitalp@j...
