Hi

Kelmie, Doc

I

get those every now and again, also for qigong classes. They usually are very

similarly worded, and involve wording like “my son will be coming to you…”.

One

good clue they are bogus is that there are usually flagrant grammatical errors.

Another is how similar and therefore recognizable the wording is. And they seem

to come in bunches. If you have internet exposure, directory listings that the

public has access to, it’s easy for scammers to make contact.

When

legitimate clients reach me for the first time through e-mail, it is not to

arrange a bunch of sessions for someone else. Further, I am usually asked

questions about my practice. The scammers suggest their child will come to me

every day for several weeks. It is just sooo not likely J

Hi Doc-

I can't say how Innersource knows they were bogus, but for me it was

how they were worded & that I got 3 similar emails in a week. The

subject was " Energy Medicine Practitioner Port Angeles " , & in each one

the person said they had a relative coming into town from overseas for

a period of time & wanted to schedule 3 sessions a week for them &

wanting the TOTAL AMOUNT (in all caps) of their treatment. Several

phrases in the emails were in ALL CAPS & the wording was odd. I've

never had someone who wasn't already a client request treatment for a

relative & I've also never had them determine the frequency of

treatment. They did not state the condition they were seeking

treatment for, ask if EM was appropriate for that condition, or if I

had time in my schedule to accommodate a new client 3 times a week (I

don't). All of my clients schedule in advance, & several of them pay

in advance, but this just seemed fishy to me.
