Guest guest
Hello -- I'm new to this list but I've been getting acupuncture treatments for nearly a year and reading about TCM all the while. I'd like to ask for some help regarding my 60 year-old mother: She's been diagnosed with MS, has had three back surgeries, and although never diagnosed, her whole family agrees she has some psychological disorder that manifests itself in great anger and irrationality. I think that acupuncture could, at the very least, help her manage her regular, daily pain, but even more so might help her deal with the psychological challenges she faces (but doesn't acknowledge.) Unfortunately, she is not very open to most alternative ideas regarding medical treatment, but she did recently admit that she might be willing to try something to help her deal with the pain. Can anyone recommend how I can encourage her to take this route? My experience is so limited that I'm not sure how to convince her to try acupuncture as a complement to the other things she must do. I did give her a copy of Peter Moles small book, " Acupuncture " , but I don't know if she'll read it. Any thoughts anyone has on how to deal with this situation and/or whether you think acupuncture can help MS would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
