Guest guest
Hello Teresa, I have been on this list since the beginning, but I don' t post much either...but I felt called to respond to your e-mails about the Tangerine Quartz. So here goes... I have posted some pictures of a couple of Tangerine Quartz pieces that I purchased for my store. They are not coated with anything, but were a little pricey. I did not buy many of these because the quality seemed very poor...all of them had been banged up pretty badly and I thought that for the price they were asking, the size and/or quality should be better. I have some Lithium quartz crystals that are coated with a brownish dusting that will wash off. This mineral dust is actually supposed to enhance the crystal's power. But, they are not shiny and if you wash it off, the crystal underneath is actually kind of pink-purple (lepidolite). I would like to believe that no one would " spray paint " a stone to pass it off as something else. But, it really does not matter...if you were drawn to a stone, regardless of what it turns out to be, you were not taken...it has some purpose in your life, so don't feel angry or upset about the one that was coated, just love it, study it and use it for its purpose. You may be surprised. And as for the dealer who told you there was no such thing...there are a lot of " new " stones that are just now being discovered - green kyanite, for example, and unless a person goes shopping on a really regular basis, it could be that he would not be aware of it. These tangerine quartz come from Brazil and are only found in limited quantities...they are sometimes sold as " red " quartz also. I hope this helps a little. Guest guest
Ramona, Thank you posting the pictures. The pieces that I have seen look like these do. They are beautiful. I feel so much better after reading these responses. Thanks for taking the time to respond with pictures.
