Guest guest
I fell from a ladder and cracked my left foot. Fortunately, the crack did not require more than a soft cast (removable boot). I was told to put no pressure on the foot After ten days, the x-ray showed the foot was not shifting, the crack still showed. After another three weeks, today, the crack did not show and the orthopedic surgeon said I could begin now to walk on the foot--even without the boot when in the house. My entire foot is still slightly swollen. When I put pressure on my foot, I feel somewhat painful pins and needles sensations along the entire foot. The doctor felt this was not a concern and said just work through it. I am using a walker to move about -- to keep from putting full weight on my foot to minimize or stop pain thus to allow movement, and due to my uncertainty about balance/stability when my full weight is placed on that foot. There is also stiffnes at the ankle joint and I do not have the circular or side to side movement that joint would normally allow. So, I am beginning to physically manipulate it in a circle while inactive & sitting (watching TV) -- and from time to time moving my foot about to exercise the muscles while sitting at the computer I am generally not at all consistent with any routine -- yet during this time have I done most of the daily routine drills almost daily, some days I have done the three thumps several times throughout the day. And taken Bach trauma remedy, applied knitbone, taken GLN enzymes (for body process--not digestive) and taken nano minerals regularly as I had these substances and thought they might help the bone knit. What DE (or other) exercises/things should I be doing specifically to rebuild my calf muscles which are wasted and eliminate the foot prickles, reverse swelling, and regain fluid circular foot movement (ankle action). I am still learning the drills and do not remember them all, but have the book so I can make note cards of how to do whatever would help in my recovery) I am ready to move on at my regular pace now that the bone has knitted, and get back to driving (which I could not do before as my truck is a stick shift and am not comfortable with now since the foot pain might cause me to buck and loose control while shifting.) Thanks for any advice you can give to speed up my recovery. g
Guest guest
Hi gail, try holding liver and spleen points (or just your big toe by the toe nail), massage large intestine neurolymphatics and kidney comes up for me too. Figure eight the ankle area and if you can find someone who combines EM with massage then get some treatments - if not then give yourself a good foot massage (you can combine this with the figure eights and it should feel great). Stretch out the area around the achilles tendon, this shouod increase flexibility and bring you some relief.... Go to the section in EM on magnets, check to see if your field can take magnets, if it can then use them, if not then don't ) Visualise your ankle healing...... happy healing - " Gail Raby " <graby Wednesday, May 25, 2005 7:33 AM walking again (sorta) >I fell from a ladder and cracked my left foot.
