Now there is also some evidence that having some trace elements of growth hormone might actually be good for you. BHTH or something like that is one of the preservatives commonly used in foods and it has been proven to actually extend the life of lab rats by nearly 30% and seems to have a very positive effect on free radicals. So keep in mind even those idiots in the chemical industry occassionally make a mistake and do something good for us. > and > chicken is bad The chicken is not as bad as eating a pizza. > but what about fish from the seafood case? Fish is fine. much of the salmon now is farm raised, but those people tend to just feed them a great diet to get them fat and on the market. > What about canned > sardines? they are small fish which they raise in cans (very clever these Norweigns ;-) ) > Isn't regular broccoli from the produce department and grocery > store chicken better than a TV dinner? yes infinitely better. > Whats a good substitute for my daily > " ham on toast " breakfast sandwich? steak with eggs > (I don't care for traditional, sweet > breakfast foods) These and many of the " healthy ones from the health food store are loaded with sugars of one form or another " Sucrose is a sugar, High fructose corn syrup as well, often you read a label and they have rolled oats follwed by three or four sugars. This gives you the impression the main ingredient is rolled oats, but when you add the sugars up you can often have something which is 60% sugar 20% rolled oats and other stuff. While white sugar is the baddest of the bad, all sugars need to be taken in moderation even honey. Most of the " health food granolas " are loaded with sugars. > Isn't fresh fruit from the produce department better than > canned? Freash fruit is always better than canned. best to wash it with a wash of salt water. Salt will break down the exterior protein shell which will have most of the pesticides on them. Peeling will also help. Most Fruits are sprayed quite a long time before they are picked. The newer pesticides are designed to breakdown in UV light and over time. > Sunflower seeds from 7-11 vs. potato chips????? Sunflower seeds from 7-11 are really expensive and better than the chips which are about 50% oil by weight. Better to get a huge bag of sunflower seeds from a health food store in bulk and get some of those Glad boxes (like a semi disposable tupperware (this type of plastic is recycleable and if your area is not recycling yet, make some noise.) Keep them stashed in your car in you office and all over the place. > > > I know most of you are purists and wouldn't dream of putting some of this > stuff in your mouth, but...this is a good start right? I used to be a purist for years. I find very little difference between one or the other. Too many organic farms do not pay enough attention to certain soil balances and their produce tends to look mis-shapened and not well formed. These come from plants that are not healthy. So I am not so sure the " organic " label means better in all cases. Organic farms that really know hat they are doing make very healthy looking attractive food. It requires a lot of work on the soil and the companion plants et al to create this. I think having a positive attitude and making sure you exercise is far more important. I could not tell if you are male or female, though the tone of your letter sounds male. If that is teh case high protein and medium fat with less carbs will work better for you. So will strength training. My 2 cents (though Arthur Anderson has valued this advise in the billions) Zip The Dragonmaster Heaven on Earth dragonmasterzip He who rules truly serves and she who serves truly rules. Guest guest
I am learning a lot from this group and from " Energy Medicine " I've only had it a few weeks and already the page with the Daily Tune up is coming out of the book. I read through once First . Now I am making my way through while learning and doing the drills . Usually I grasp and realize what I study / practice fairly swiftly. I am having to take this slowly and go over the material over and over. I have more physical energy. My knees where I've had chronic pain have responded quite well to the methods I've begun to use. and flexibility has increased to where I can actually do the Wayne Cook posture and some of the things I could not do at first. The sections on the triple warmer Primitive brain etc. have clarified what had remained major mysteries in my knowledge map. I am experiencing a definite reduction in stress reaction and increase in calmness and ability to retain/ restore calmness . I notice in reading the archives here that the posts there seem to begin in the middle of some discussions ( Radiant circuits for one) . Are there any other the groups where these discussions began which have archives that will be helpful?
