Guest guest
My family experience with migraines seems to be similar to other posters. Our final understanding was that food allergies is a major reason for the pain. We are now cautious and rotate foods 5 days apart from each other. Some foods were eliminated completely, and some we have only on big holidays. It's made an enormous difference. We've also added organic vege. juice, raw vege. salad, organic fermented foods (for probiotics). There's a huge positive difference for all of us. Guest guest
Hi, I have treated many people with acupuncture and herbal medicine for migraine headaches with very good results. There are many possible factors to consider in this situation so there is not one answer for all people but I think you should be able to get considerable help. If you say where you are located maybe someone in the group can give you a referral. If you look yourself ask if they have experience with your problem. Good Luck and thank your doctor for a good advise. Bobbi Aqua, Lic. Ac./Herbalist
Guest guest
Hi Sheila, Hopefully your husband was able to avail of the therapy that is recommended for post-op bypass patients. If not then ask you Medical Doctor about this. Many things can cause migraine headaches. Yes, it could be a sign or hypertension so it might be a good idea to get one of thos home blood pressure machines with the digital read out. Even though his arteries might be presently clear, the diet or genes that caused the plaque build up might not have changed. They should have provided a diet following the surgery. If they didn't I would consider another doctor. The internet is a secondary tool for information. Your doctor should be the primary, and if he/she isn't doing the job it is time to shop around for one who will. Of course you need to limit his sodium intake. He should not be eating any processed foods as they hide massive ammounts of salt that is listed in the fine print. Some other foods that have been identified as migraine triggers are chocolate, cheese, coffee, nuts, and almost anything high in simple carbs (sugars). Anyway good luck and you really need to direct these questions to his PCP or cardiologist first then ask the group again after you understand his directions. This is a very serious health condition, but it also very common and many people experience a remarkable improvement in their lifestyle following the surgery. I would also ask what other medicines he is currently taking. Sometime they prescribe an immunosuppresent to keep the body from trying to reject the stint. These medicines can cause headaches and fatigue as you described in your message.
