Guest guest
Hello to all, Even though I am not completely new to this list I have not yet introduced myself properly. Here it follows: I am a L.ac from Denmark partly trained partly at Dongguk Royal University in Los Angeles, partly at the School of Acupuncture and Traditional in Copenhagen, Denmark. My training is primarily in Traditional . I have been fortunate and priviliged to have experienced quite extensive internships at both private and university clinics in USA, Japan, Korea and Denmark. I am currently working fultime treating out-patients here in Denmark. I hope the following will not make me look pretentious or arrogant in any way: I have been reading the posts on this group with interest and something strikes me. More often than not somebody asks how he/she can treat his/her patient who suffers from seminal emssion, backache – whatever the problem, but never states the pulse and tounge images, syndromes and patterns of imbalances. How can this be? And how can we as TCM students, professionals, Ph.Ds etc. give advice without knowing which organs etc is involved?! We don’t know to whom we give this advice because people do not introduce themselves properly before asking questions or presenting treatments for a given problem. In my opinion we should be careful to give the best advice possible to people who are asking how to help themselves through TCM. I feel that we should also observe strict ethical codes when we give advice on proffesional treatments and likewise it is of great importance to ophold the integrity in this particular discussiongroup since we are dealing with people’s health and wellbeing! We have to know that there’s still a lot of people around the world – especially in Europe – that practice acupuncture without proper formal training. So for the safety of patients and for the integrity of TCM I believe it is of utmost importance that we only give good quality advice.
