Guest guest
Just had to respond to this message. I work for a chiropractor and I have seen what chiropractic can do for people. It is wonderful! Love, Light and Laughter, Candy Thought for today: When there is a start to be made, don't step over! Start where you are.--Edgar Cayce Linda Bumpas [lindabumpas] ear infection Thanks to everybody who made suggestions when my son had an ear infection a while back. Before we had a chance to try any of them, he went to an appointment with our chiropractor. The chiropractor showed him how to massage his neck and chest to help his ear drain. After that he had no more problem with his ear! So another cure for ear infections: chiropractic. It's amazing what chiropractic can do. Guest guest
Hi, I agree with BJ. The mullein-garlic compound is, in my opinion, better than antibiotics. i can start getting an ear infection and use the mix. within a day the pain and signs of infection are gone. it is the best. violet BJ wrote: >I can tell you what worked for me. Guest guest
I can tell you what worked for me. About 15 years ago, I developed an ear infection. Hadn't had one since I was a kid - and was in my 50's when this happened. Didn't have a cold...nothing. Anyway, I waited a few days, and pretty soon lost the hearing in one ear and started having severe pains in the back of my head. Thought I had a brain tumor. Finally made an appointment with a doctor. Of course got the usual round of antibiotics. About 8 or 10 days went by - still had an ear infection. Now I got nervous as we were set to fly from Denver to Seattle in just two or three weeks, and I knew I couldn't fly in that condition. Went back to doctor. New antibiotics. Took as prescribed - still had an ear infection. Went to different doctor where I used to live - trusted him more anyway. Got the strongest antibiotic he could give me (I'm allergic to Penicillin). Took that as prescribed. I won't keep you in suspense...still had an ear infection. Frustrated, went to the health food store and bought a small bottle of " Mullein-Garlic Compound " . (I just now went and got this out of my cupboard!) I used it for 3 nights, and the ear infection disappeared....never to return. Nor did I. I have not been to a doctor since. Anyway, the Compound contains the following: Olive oil, St. John's Wort, Calendula, Mullein and Garlic. I have carried this little guy with me all these years - forgot about it until you asked the question. Guest guest
Thanks Jeanne for the info on the garlic mullein oil. My health food store had one with the same ingredients(garlic, mullein, st john's wort, and calendula). I've used it for 2 nights and my daughters ear already feels better. This was after being on an antibiotic for 9 days that didn't cure it. Oh and the antibiotic caused a major reaction in her called erythema multiforme, so if anyone gets an ear infection try to cure it naturally first. The allergic reaction was just an awful thing to go through and for nothing since the antibiotic didn't even work. Traci

Guest guest
Larix by Eclectic Institute will prevent and cure ear infections. Given at the start of a cold, runny nose etc it will prevent. Most health food stores/herb shops carry this product. Get the powdered type, it dissolves in milk or juice or water or tea and has no discernable taste. 1 - 3 teaspoons a day for children under 12. I have had great results. I am not affiliated with this product and do not have anything for sale. This is just such a wonderful product, I feel I need to pass on the information. It is a type of polysaccharide from the Western Larch tree. It is water soluble. Peace, Thyme ************************************** AOL now offers free email to everyone. Guest guest
Please do not use Q-Tips.... very dangerous for dogs - you could pierce the drum if (when) he shakes his head. Our Golden has ear problems about once a month (very common for labs, retrievers etc). He’s had them all his life and he turned 7 this past New Year’s. His ears get red and smell when there is a problem. It gets red because he scratches at the ear. It smells because of the wax and yeast build-up. Nine times out of ten it gets worse when we stray off of his lamb/rice/veggie diet (his b-day was on new year's and we made him a pineapple angel food cake for his ‘gift’ -- BIG MISTAKE!!!). Too much sugar exacerbated the yeast growth. So it’s cleaning out the ear with EpiOtic, toilet paper and/or cotton every other day until the wax and yeast are diminished (usually only takes ~ week or two). We clean his ears out every other week when there isn’t a problem. I realize that EpiOtic sounds like a ‘drug’ – but it is actually a very natural product. Just my opinion - take it for what its worth.. Guest guest
What is EpiOptic? I have been using a washcloth around my finger or a cotton ball today, but really, Morgan is such a good girl, she lays her head on my lap so I can work with her. Then I massage her ears. I am thinking of adding Tea Tree Oil to the Cayenne/Thyme/Nasturtium oil blend. Jaynee
Guest guest
Hi Jaynee, I would add raw garlic to your dogs food. The garlic will kill off the infection from the inside. Also, garlic and mullein in an olive oil base is great for the ears. Doc has an Ear formula that is just that. Hope this helps! Guest guest
Jaynee, We have a cocker spaniel with frequent ear infections. In the past his vet used to put him on treatments that would hardly help. The best relief and help we managed to give him is with using strong garlic oil I made at home along with Organic Solutions Ear Formula. Because of itching once everything starts working it is hard for him to calm down, so we also give him some Organic Solutions Nerve Sedative Formula that helps him greatly. To clean the ears, my husband used the water solution from the vet in past, but we may try ear candling to see if we can get any of the wax build up out... I hope it will help him lessen the frequency of his discomforts. ....hope this helps ... Guest guest
Hello, I've used Garlic Oil, Garlic/Mullein Oil, and hydrogen peroxide (NOT at the same time as the oil) for outer ear infections. My Neti pot seems to help with inner ear infections. I don't have nearly as much ear trouble as I used to. My ear troubles started when I was 17, after I took a strong knock on the chin, and sorta took care of themselves over the last few years... -james knochel On Tue, Jun 30, 2009 at 3:39 PM, msschwaben<msschwaben wrote: > i did a search and did not find an answer... am hoping someone here can help. now be gentle with me.. i'm still learning and in the midst of DE's medicine book.. > > my 16 year old son called me from KY this afternoon- a 7 hour drive away- and said he thinks he has an ear infection. first one in quite some time. > > what can i do to help him from here? i can send some reiki but other than that, i did not know what to tell him besides to do EFT (even tho my jaw hurts, my ear hurts, even tho i feel terrible..). > > i did a search in donna's book but i see nothing on acute ear pain/infection > > he is with another family and they are staying at a state park until tomorrow night... > > suggestions? > > thanks! > > > > > --- > >

Guest guest
Hi; The Garlic oil and hydrogen peroxide have worked for me in the past. However, if you want something really quick, take some listerine and use it. Yeh, I know it'll sting, but trust me it works. If you have more time, use grapefruit seed extract for your nose to clear it out if you don't want to use the Neti pot. If you do use the Neti pot, make sure to use a SMALL pinch of high quality salt. I've also went over to Seagateproducts.com for thier earache remedy. It's all natural with olive leaf extract and takes about three days to work for me. Hope the info can help, Scott , james knochel <knochj wrote: > > Hello, > > I've used Garlic Oil, Garlic/Mullein Oil, and hydrogen peroxide (NOT > at the same time as the oil) for outer ear infections.
