I have a crystal, like the aqua aura... but this one is red/purple color

Does anyone know what this is called? And what is added to the quartz to

make it this color?

Thanks, Kim

This might be Titanium treated quartz which is known as " Flame Aura "

quartz. The material is natural quartz or sometimes other material like

druzy amethyst or agate which has been treated in a process much like gold

plating. It fuses a molecular layer of titanium plus other metals to the

surface of the parent material. The result is a permanent coloring of the

surface creating a dazzling irridesent effect

According to the author " Melody " in her book " Love is in the Earth "

" supplement A " ,

" Flame Aura " assists greatly in meditation and has stimulated the movement

of the

Kundalini to the crown chakra, aligning the chakras during the excursion;

Flame Aura

quartz has promoted contact , during meditation, with the ancient Greek

civilizations. It also has all the properties of natural quartz crystals;

alignment, harmony, etc.

  • 4 years later...

I got a wire wrapped crystal necklace at a renaissance festival recently and

when I bought it the woman said it was labradorite. I looked it up in a couple

crystal books I have and it looked more like sodalite. I was wondering if

someone could look at it for me and tell me which it is, I'll gladly send a

picture. I love it either way, I'd just like to know which one it is.
