" One of the favorite huna sayings is " all learning is NOT in one school " ... So there are some very valuable presuppositions there, are there not? Group, I wonder what some of them might be? One presupposition I don't like is that " whoever states that knows more that you or I do, which is NOT the case in MOST situations! " >Perhaps you are not sure that one system may work sufficiently >fast. I'm sorry, but your presupposition about Birrell seems to be a mind read. Your LACK of a question mark, means it WAS NOT a question, but something you consider true, so you punctuated it as a valid statement, which is NOT the case, just an assumption. The gentleman wants to know MORE ABOUT ENERGY... ....so he asked a valid question, from HIS reference point, which is Reiki. It was a VALID QUESTION, and not a question about 'which' is best. >If you doubt, it certainly will not work. Oops! Sorry. But you are now going against many esoteric systems. These many systems tell the neophyte, " do not believe anything I say. Do the drills and see for yourself what works for YOU! " > Belief in the system is the primary requirement. NO! Belief is NOT a necessary nor a primary requirement, nor even a MINOR REQUIREMENT... ....Especially for Huna. ....Especially in any Energy Work. You do the drills, you pay attention, and you WILL NOTICE because of what you observe, what works and don't work... ....unless, you are one of the small part of the populace that has a Randi mentality. Just an off-shoot here...check out Randi's ranking on the Hawkin's Scale... ....it's very amusing;-) So, what is a necessary requirement for Huna, or for any valid esoteric psychic/psychological/energitic system? Putting your DISBELIEF behind you on a shelf while you do the drills 'as if' they really work. Then AFTER doing the drills, and noticing the results, both POSITIVE and NEGATIVE... ....you pull down those " old " beliefs and see if you had enough information when you formulated them. Huna is NOT after " yes men " , nor after " me too's " . We are after thinking people who want certain skills and are willing to DO WHAT IT TAKES TO GET THOSE SKILLS. At the last board meeting, we needed to vote on some people who wanted a credential for being a Huna Kumu. We do require some proof of their expertise before granting those. A couple of people REFUSED to demonstrate their skills as Huna Teachers on video, on audio tape, or on a practical demonstration. In fact they were angry that we requested such stupid information from them. Interesting. Gees, I wonder how high/low they score on the Hawkin's scale?... ....or on Max's PA scale? Back in the old days, ANY prospective instructor needed to hand write their application, and a PA was done for that person BEFORE their application was processes. It was a part of the verification. We are NOT after 'yes men/women'. So, what are we after? But wait, there is more... DR. John M. La Tourrette Pretty simple.
